Why Early Access?

“While the game is fully functional, I still plan on adding new features and working with the community feedback to improve the game, this is because Mage Fight relies heavily on multiplayer as the most played game mode.

Mage Fight started as a tabletop experience, and Early Access allows me to test the matchmaking with a live player base. My goal is to work directly with the community to balance the mechanics, fix bugs, and polish the gameplay before the full 1.0 release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It will be in Early Access for approximately two months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan on adding new game modes, game modifiers, improved visuals, more sound effects, unit skin customisation, accessibility features, and individual card art.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Mage Fight has a fully-functional multiplayer working worldwide with rankings (with spectating), a single-player skirmish vs bot, and a hotseat mode for playing on the same screen.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“This Early Access phase is designed as a premium way to play Mage Fight for the existing community as a 'supporter tier' who want to back the project. To make the game as accessible as possible to the wider public, the base price will decrease on full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I have a dedicated Discord server where I will be directly communicating with players. Community feedback will have a direct impact on the game's direction, specifically regarding unit balancing, feature prioritisation and ideas, and bug reports.”
