What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Geopogo Cities: Windsor–Detroit is an ambitious, evolving simulation built on real-world cities, and Early Access allows us to develop it alongside the community.

We’re launching early so players can begin exploring, building, and shaping the region while core systems continue to expand. Feedback from players will directly influence gameplay features, economic systems, performance, and overall direction.

Our goal is to create a deeply engaging city-building experience grounded in real places, and that requires iteration, testing, and community input at scale.

Early Access gives players the opportunity to be part of that process — helping us refine mechanics, improve stability, and prioritize the features that matter most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Geopogo Cities: Windsor–Detroit to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months, depending on community feedback and development progress.

During this time, we’ll be expanding core systems such as the economic simulation, population behavior, and city editing tools, while improving performance and stability.

Our goal is to transition out of Early Access once the experience feels complete, polished, and shaped by player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Geopogo Cities: Windsor–Detroit is planned to expand significantly on the systems and depth introduced in Early Access.

We plan to further develop core gameplay systems, including a more advanced economic simulation, deeper population behavior, and more dynamic city feedback systems that respond to player decisions.

Additional features we plan to explore include expanded building and zoning tools, more detailed city services and infrastructure systems, and enhanced visual and environmental detail across the region.

We also plan to improve overall performance, UI/UX, and accessibility, making the experience smoother and more intuitive for a wider range of players.

As development progresses, we intend to continue refining the core gameplay loop and expanding the scope of the city-building experience, guided by community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Geopogo Cities: Windsor–Detroit provides a playable foundation of the core experience.

Players can explore a real-world 3D recreation of Windsor and Detroit, drive through the city, and begin shaping the environment by placing and removing buildings. Core systems for city editing and basic economic interaction are in place, allowing players to experiment with how their decisions impact the city.

While the foundation is functional and actively being developed, many systems are still evolving. Features such as deeper economic simulation, population behavior, UI systems, and overall balancing are in progress.

Players may encounter bugs, performance limitations, and incomplete features as we continue to improve stability and expand the experience.

We are actively updating the game and using community feedback to guide development throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access to reflect its current state and to reward early supporters.

As we continue to expand the game with new features, systems, and improvements, we may gradually increase the price leading up to and after the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community closely throughout development by actively gathering feedback and using it to guide priorities.

Players will be able to share feedback through Steam discussions, social channels, and direct playtesting. We’ll use this input to help refine gameplay systems, improve performance, and prioritize new features.

We also plan to share regular updates on development progress, including new features, improvements, and areas we’re actively working on.

Our goal is to build Geopogo Cities alongside the community, where player feedback directly influences how the game evolves over time.”

About This Game

Geopogo Cities: Windsor–Detroit is a playable urban simulation set in the real-world downtown cores of Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan.

You step into the role of city planner, balancing zoning, development, transportation, and economic growth in a region shaped by industry, border trade, and decades of change. Using real map data as a foundation, the city responds dynamically as you remove blighted blocks, introduce new development, and guide the downtown back toward life.

This is not just a visualization. It is a living urban sandbox where decisions have consequences.

Shape a Real City

Build directly on top of a real geographic layout. Place new zones, redevelop parcels, and watch buildings emerge as the city evolves from decline toward renewal.

Play, Experiment, Iterate

There is no single “right” solution. Test ideas, experiment with density, and explore how different development patterns affect traffic, population, and economic activity.

A City That Moves

Cars, pedestrians, and urban life already flow through the streets. As systems expand, the city begins to feel alive, reactive, and emergent.

Planned Features

  • Expanded economic simulation

  • Property parcel–based construction

  • Construction phases and animations

  • Improved vehicle and pedestrian behavior

  • Additional tools for shaping and testing urban outcomes

Who Is This For?

  • City-building and simulation fans

  • Players who enjoy sandbox experimentation

  • Anyone curious about how real cities grow, fail, and recover
