Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Backrooms Lost Unit to remain in Early Access for roughly 12 to 16 months.
This timeframe may change depending on development progress, player feedback, and testing results. As the project is primarily developed by a solo developer, timelines may shift as features are tested and refined. Our goal during Early Access is to gradually expand the game’s content and improve stability while shaping the experience alongside the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim for the full release to reflect a more complete and polished version of the game, based on ongoing development and community feedback. with finalized systems, smoother progression, and a more cohesive experience compared to the Early Access version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a fully playable experience featuring 10 levels available on day one. We have actively tested the game, identified bugs, and fixed many issues to ensure a smooth experience. While we strive to make the game as bug-free as possible, there is still a chance players may encounter issues. If that happens, we encourage players to report them using the in-game “Report a Bug” feature.

Development is ongoing, and we are actively working on future updates, including new content, improvements, and potential overhauls of existing levels to further refine the experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is planned to be priced lower during Early Access. As development continues and more content, features, and improvements are added, the base price may increase once major development milestones are reached. Early Access players will receive updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play a major role throughout development. We plan to actively listen to player suggestions, bug reports, and balance feedback through in game reporting tools, Steam discussions, and community channels. Player input will help guide improvements to gameplay, co-op systems, difficulty, performance, and overall atmosphere.”

A co-op Backrooms horror experience for 1 to 4 players. Explore deeply detailed and accurately designed levels, each with its own unique layout, atmosphere, and challenges. Scavenge resources, solve puzzles, and combine items to survive while deadly entities with unpredictable behaviors hunt you. Work together with friends or face the horrors alone as you search for a way back to reality.

Tension builds with every step as psychological horror entities lurk in the shadows, making every encounter unpredictable. The world is designed to keep you on edge, blending atmosphere, sound, and suspense into a fully immersive horror experience.

Team up with up to 4 players to explore the endless Backrooms. Scavenge items, experiment with combinations, and survive the tension together. Deadly entities lurk around every corner, creating moments that are both hilarious and terrifying.

No two levels are the same. Each area has its own layout, challenges, and atmosphere, offering new puzzles, items, and interactions. Players will need to adapt their strategies to survive as every level introduces unique mechanics, surprises, and ways to explore.
