Roguefort is a massive open-world traditional roguelike where you can do anything you like and be anyone you want to be.

If you like Caves of Qud, Dwarf Fortress, or UnReal World, you'll like this game - especially if you wanted to experience them all at once in a fantasy world where cheese is like the Spice in Dune, vampires stalk the night, and you are thrown into a deep world of politics, lore, dungeon crawling, magic, and exploration.

A Living World

• Build reputation with 5 rival factions where your choices have chain reactions

• Take on bounty, delivery, and dungeon-clearing quests from faction NPCs

• Trade with blacksmiths, healers, herbalists, shipwrights, cheese merchants, herders, and more

• Recruit a party of up to 3 companions

• Experience a living ecology - hunting affects prey and predator populations, foraging impacts vegetation, and tipping-point events reshape the wild

• Encounter narrative events: hen stampedes, mushroom blooms, wolf pack raids, starfalls, wandering merchants, and more

• NPCs sleep, wake, shelter from weather, and remember what you've done

Your Way to Play

• Go fishing and catch hundreds of different kinds of fish across cosy, exotic, and dangerous locations

• Play a full campaign with a story, or roam freely
