Why Early Access?

“PlaneShift has been an incredible journey through the years and will probably be always in constant evolution. We list the game as "Early Access" because we know that there are still many areas to refine, improve and expand. At the same time we think the game is already enjoyable as it is, and so we want you to play it and provide your valuable feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate the game to come out of early access in 24 months. This estimate may vary in the future.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want to focus on the an improved combat system, smarter NPC AI, an improved main story line that will make you learn more about the lore of the game. In particular the main story line should be race specific and have every race contribute to the overall main plot.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We think the game is playable and enyoable today. Here is what we have in game right now:
- 9 playable races
- a complex character customization with dozens of options to describe your character background (roleplay-wise)
- some character visual customizations
- four cities to explore
- many caves and outdoors to explore
- nearly 500 quests
- dozens of different creatures to fight
- dozens of spells to find and research
- a fully functional crafting system: weapons, armors, alchemy, herbalism, brewing, ...
- magical weapons and armor than can be enchanted
- harvesting, mining and fishing
- a skill based progression system
- a faction and organization system
- pets
- a friendly community!

“No.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We receive feedback from our bugtracker website, where you can log the issues you find in game. This site allows any player to submit bugs and also feature ideas. This way you can help us to improve the game.
Another place where you can submit ideas are our Forums and Discord.
We have an open development approach, and we accept contributions from the community. You can suggest new storylines, dialogues, or submit assets like 3d models and textures. You can participate in the testing and improve our game.
