You are a field agent with the criminal investigation unit: sweep the scene, photograph it, bag the evidence and pin it to your board until one name is left. Five cases, 31 suspects, 83 pieces of evidence, no quest markers. Nobody confirms your theory: you sign the accusation.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This project is in Early Access because it currently includes five criminal cases. The game is still in active development, and Early Access will allow players to enjoy the current content while helping shape future updates as more cases and improvements are added.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 6 months. The goal is to expand the game to at least 10 fully functional criminal cases while continuing to improve overall quality and stability.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include improved performance, additional criminal cases, and potentially new gameplay features that are currently being evaluated for implementation.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is highly polished and fully playable. All core systems are functioning correctly, and the five available criminal cases can be completed and solved without issues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The planned price will remain the same during and after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is currently being gathered through my Discord community. Player suggestions, bug reports, and general feedback are being used to help prioritize improvements and future content updates.”

About This Game

A case isn't solved by looking. It's built.

You are a field agent with the Criminal Investigation Unit. There's no forensics team waiting at the door and no partner pointing you at the next clue. You have a camera, a UV flashlight, a book of evidence labels and an office with an empty board.

Chains of Clues is a first-person criminal investigation game. Every case file opens on a scene you can walk inch by inch, and closes when you write a name under the word "perpetrator". Everything in between is your work.

The Procedura

I · The scene. Cordon it off, walk it, document it. Photograph every trace before you touch it, tag what matters, use ultraviolet light to find what isn't there in plain sight, raise latents with spray, cast a footprint. Some evidence sits off the obvious path: walk past that room and that evidence never existed.

II · The archive. Back at the office, your computer opens the autopsy, ballistics, bioforensic, financial and scene reports; the CCTV dumps; and the file on every suspect — height, weight, handedness, shoe size, vehicles, debts, licences, legal status. Print whatever you need, as long as you still have ink.

III · The board. This is where the case starts to exist. Pin cards, photographs and reports, connect them with red string, flag what doesn't fit and rebuild the timeline. The game won't draw the link for you: you build the chain by hand.

IV · The accusation. When you believe only one name is left, open the Solve module and sign it. Nobody confirms it beforehand. A case ends Solved or Failed — and being wrong costs money.

Cinco expedientes

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game contains a limited amount of AI-generated visual content created during development due to the project's low budget. Specifically, suspect profile images and some evidence-related visual assets or models were created with the help of generative AI tools. Not all evidence assets are AI-generated.

The use of AI is limited to pre-made visual content only. No gameplay systems, dialogue, story logic, code, or real-time interactive content is generated by AI during play. All gameplay mechanics, case logic, interactions, and progression were designed and implemented by the developer.
