About This Game

PILOT 6174: Orbital Survival is a Hard Sci-Fi Roguelike.

Trapped inside a claustrophobic, analog cockpit featuring designs from a bygone era, you must pilot your craft through a post-apocalyptic universe in search of salvation.

BACK TO ANALOG

The FREMI corrupts all systems with enough intelligence. Humanity has been forced into using more primitive forms of technology.

  • Tactile Controls: Flip physical switches to deploy radiators, and enter verb - noun combinations to execute commands.

NEWTONIAN NAVIGATION

Gravity is non-negotiable. Either you master it, or you are at its mercy.

  • Realistic Physics: Perform precise orbit phasing, utilize gravitational assists to conserve ΔV, and calculate complex rendezvous windows.

  • Realistic Scale: Space is vast. Unimaginably vast. Travel between planetary bodies can take weeks, months, or even years. You can hibernate to skip forward in time, but beware: the FREMI hunts regardless of your state of consciousness.

MANAGEMENT WARFARE

In the vacuum of space, heat becomes a beacon that screams your location to every being in the system, friend or foe.

  • Interlocking Systems: Powering your spacecraft generates heat. Deploying radiators dissipates it, but drastically increases your radar signature.

  • Fight or Flight: A FREMI infected craft is on an intercept course. Will you retract your radiators and attempt to hide? Start charging your railguns and prepare for combat? Or perform an evasive burn? There is never a single answer.

A BROKEN UNIVERSE

Humanity once spanned the stars using Gateways, constructs allowing near-instant interstellar travel. The FREMI lead to near-instant ruination. The only lead left is a signal from the system Yendor.

  • Roguelike Progression: Every jump through a gateway brings you to a procedurally generated star system with unique planetary bodies, anomalies, and derelicts to explore. Find the next gateway, and hope that it leads closer to Yendor.

  • Permadeath: Space is indifferent to your existence. If you run out of fuel, crash into a moon, or is destroyed by the anomaly, your journey ends. There are no checkpoints.
