What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“REIGN is a complex political and strategic simulation with multiple interacting systems, roles and AI-driven events. Early Access allows us to gather player feedback on balance, UI flow, role interactions, and multiplayer stability while continuing to refine the overall political simulation. Because the game thrives on systems working together, community input during this phase is extremely valuable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimate is 6–12 months. The exact duration may vary depending on community feedback, multiplayer testing, and the scope of the improvements we implement during development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include improved role interactions, expanded event cards, additional crisis types, enhanced AI behavior for missing player roles, more polished UI elements, and deeper multiplayer tools. We also intend to add new scenarios, balance updates, and custom rule-set options based on player feedback. Final content and features may be adjusted as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game loop is functional: all eight roles can be played, the event and crisis systems are active, multiplayer sessions are stable, and AI-controlled roles are fully operational. Basic UI, decision-making, voting, and crisis resolution systems are implemented. The Early Access version is playable and feature-complete for the main 100-turn experience, but balancing, UI polishing, additional events, and quality-of-life features are still in progress.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not expect major price changes during Early Access. As the game grows and receives significant new features, content, and improvements, we may adjust the price for the full release. Any changes will reflect the value added during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through ongoing feedback, balance suggestions, bug reports, and feature discussions. Players will be able to share ideas through Steam forums, Discord, surveys, and in-game reporting tools. Community input will directly influence role balance, event design, AI behavior improvements, and future content updates throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

REIGN is a deep, role-driven strategy and diplomacy game that takes you into the heart of the late Ottoman Empire in the early 1900s.
Standing on the thin line between collapse and reform, you choose one of eight powerful state positions and navigate political intrigue, hard decisions, and the mechanisms that determine the fate of the Empire.

Every turn brings a new crisis: economic turmoil, internal unrest, foreign pressure, diplomatic standoffs, and even the threat of a military coup…
The Empire is trapped in a rapidly closing tunnel of time, and surviving 100 turns requires every role to make the right move at the right moment.

Whether you rule from the throne as the Sultan, balance the treasury as the Defterdar, or manipulate the shadows as the Head of Intelligence—
every office holds power, but a single wrong decision can bring the entire state crashing down.

RESHAPE THE FINAL ERA OF THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE

The 1900s marked a defining chapter for the Empire: mounting foreign pressure, increasing debt, rising public unrest, military tension, and the struggle to adapt to a new global order.
REIGN recreates this atmosphere, where every decision changes the pulse of the state:

  • Fail to balance the budget → salaries go unpaid.

  • Ignore foreign pressure → the threat of occupation rises.

  • Mismanage the army → the coup risk grows.

  • Neglect the people → uprisings ignite.

Every decision shifts the nation’s heartbeat. Every turn is a new test.

8 ROLES – 8 UNIQUE PLAYSTYLES

At the core of REIGN lie eight distinct state offices, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, abilities, and hidden agendas.
Every session evolves through the cooperation, conflict, or intrigue between these roles.

Below, you can meet each character and their unique gameplay identity:

SULTAN – Symbol of Imperial Authority

The highest position in the Empire.
The Sultan is the ultimate decision-maker who shapes the course of the nation.

  • Veto and approval powers

  • Issuing reform decrees

  • Dismissing the cabinet

  • Maintaining public legitimacy

The Sultan is powerful—but never alone. Everyone seeks to influence him.

GRAND VIZIER – The Engine of the State

The heart of Ottoman governance.
Manages the flow of turns and coordinates state operations during crises.

  • Organizes decision-making processes

  • Mediates conflicts between roles

  • Balances diplomacy and internal affairs

A weak Grand Vizier can lead the entire state to collapse.

MINISTER OF WAR – Master of the Army

A commanding military figure who controls both internal security and external defense.

  • Army modernization

  • Budget and spending demands

  • Coup risk management

  • Suppressing revolts

One wrong move, and the army may turn against you.

DEFTERDAR – Architect of the Economy

The fate of the treasury lies in their hands.
A failing economy means certain collapse.

  • Tax regulation

  • Borrowing and debt management

  • Paying government salaries

  • Controlling inflation

Every coin has a cost.

MINISTER OF JUSTICE – Guardian of Law

Oversees the legal system and internal justice mechanisms.

  • Fighting corruption

  • Punishment / reward decisions

  • Press freedom & censorship

  • Social justice balancing

When justice weakens, unrest rises.

MINISTER OF INTERIOR – Keeper of Domestic Stability

Reads the public mood and secures internal order.

  • Managing public satisfaction

  • Security reports

  • Propaganda and counter-propaganda

  • Preventing uprisings

A single mistake can set the streets on fire.

MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS – Diplomatic Strategist

Handles relationships with world powers.

  • Negotiating agreements

  • Reducing foreign pressure

  • Trade relations

  • Diplomatic maneuvering

A wrong step may drag the entire nation into war.

HEAD OF INTELLIGENCE – Master of Shadows

Leader of the Empire’s secret services—intelligence, informant networks, and covert operations.

  • Espionage operations

  • Blackmail

  • Classified reports

  • Detecting coup preparations

A highly strategic and manipulative role.

A MULTIPLAYER STATE SIMULATION

REIGN is a political power struggle for 1–8 players.
Missing roles are filled by advanced AI bots, ensuring a complete state simulation every session.

  • Host-based multiplayer

  • Player debates and negotiations

  • Voting and policy discussions

  • Secret alliances and hidden deals

  • Each player sees a different side of the state

  • Every run creates a new “history”

EVENT CARDS: HISTORY REWRITTEN EACH TURN

Every turn, players face a new political event card, keeping the game dynamic and unpredictable.

  • Economic crises

  • Diplomatic confrontations

  • Rebellion scenarios

  • Foreign interference

  • Espionage incidents

Every decision triggers a new chain reaction.

SURVIVE 100 TURNS – OR FALL

The Empire collapses if any of the following occurs:

  • Treasury is depleted → economic collapse

  • Foreign pressure increases → occupation

  • Public unrest grows → rebellion

  • Military dissatisfaction rises → coup

  • Diplomacy fails → threats and war

If the Empire survives 100 turns, all players win—
but only one will be remembered as the architect of the era.

A UNIQUE ROLE-DRIVEN STRATEGY EXPERIENCE

REIGN reimagines one of history’s most critical eras through modern decision-making and social strategy mechanics.
Each turn brings new intrigue, each meeting sparks new conflict, and every role becomes a battlefield of influence.

Will you save the state… or seize power for yourself?
History will be written by your hand.
