About This Game

Playable demo drops in February 2026.

Maledictum is a 1–4 player co-op horror investigation game: identify the entity, uncover the victim/culprit/cause through story evidence, then perform a final ritual to free or condemn the spirit while it reacts to your voice and choices.

In Maledictum, you’re not a ghost hunter chasing random apparitions. You’re an Investigator of Guilt.

Every haunting is the aftermath of something human betrayal, cruelty, sacrifice, silence. The presence in the dark isn’t “just evil.” It’s an echo of a truth someone tried to bury. Your job isn’t only to survive the night… it’s to reconstruct what happened and decide what should happen next.

Investigate the Entity. Uncover the Sin.

Each contract has two layers of investigation:

1) Identify the entity
Use classic investigative tools and paranormal evidence to determine what is haunting the location.

2) Solve the Case of Guilt
Piece together the full tragedy behind the haunting:

  • Who the victim was

  • Who the killer / culprit is

  • How the death happened

  • What binds the spirit to this place

To uncover the truth, you’ll search the house for story-driven evidence: letters, photos, diaries, reports, and disturbing details that reshape the case as you go.

A Haunting That Reacts to You (and Your Voice)

The entity doesn’t just “patrol.” It responds to your progress.

  • Get closer to the truth, and it may become more aggressive.

  • Make wrong conclusions, and it can become manipulative—feeding you misleading sounds, distorted clues, and unsettling “echoes” of the past.

Maledictum features proximity voice chat, and the entity reacts to what it hears:

  • noise, shouting, panic, whispers

  • sometimes it demands silence…

  • other times it attacks without warning

5 Maps. 50 Stories. Endless Variations.

Maledictum is built for replayability.

At launch, the game features 5 locations and 50 unique story cases, with multiple variants per case. The narrative system is randomized per contract based on rules so the same house can hide a different truth next time.

No two investigations should feel identical.

The Ritual: Your Final Choice

Once you think you’ve solved the case, you’ll perform a ritual and make a decision:

  • Free the spirit

  • Condemn it (cast it down)

Every choice has consequences and being wrong has consequences too. If your conclusions don’t match the truth, the ritual can backfire, the haunting can escalate, and escaping alive may become your only goal.

Key Features

  • Singleplayer / Online Co-op (1–4 players)

  • Two-layer gameplay: entity identification + full story case reconstruction

  • Interactive investigation: collect evidence, documents, and narrative clues across the house

  • Voice-driven horror: proximity chat + entity reactions to noise and panic

  • Randomized story system: 5 maps, 50 cases, multiple variants per case

  • Final ritual decision: free or condemn the entity, with lasting consequences
