Why Early Access?

“There is still a lot that I want to add and improve, and I hope that releasing to Early Access lets me continue development full time. The simulation is going to take a long time to balance and get it feeling right because there are so many different interacting systems. Designing and balancing an emergent, procedurally generated simulation is delicate and takes the kind of time and playtesting that Early Access allows.”

“My goal is to keep Early Access as short as the game's quality allows.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan on deepening the strategy mechanics and player agency. I also plan to deepen the emergent possibilities of the simulation so that every run feels truly different, expand the list of genes and interactions, expand the lab/career progression, and add more sandbox toys. I also plan to keep improving balance, legibility, and the overall feel of the simulation based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core simulation runs and the game is playable. The core game loop is in place but not fully fleshed out. Players can progress by cultivating their own lineages of cells and can exhibit some influence on the direction that cells evolve in. However, there are missing features that I haven't added yet, lots of bugs, and the simulation is unbalanced; I want to ensure that every run can feel different with endless strategic variety. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early access will start at a lower price and gradually increase the price as new content is added. The game will always be a one-time purchase and never have any microtransactions, and the price will reflect the depth of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I love engaging with my active Discord community and the community here. I constantly gather player feedback, discuss my goals and direction, bounce ideas around, and always take suggestions. I especially enjoy adding features that people request!”

About This Game

Cultivate evolution as you guide your cell colonies on their territorial conquest, experimenting with mutations to find genetic advantages in a richly simulated artificial life sandbox. Engineer chemistry and intervene tactfully with direct cellular controls. Each cell has a unique genome shaping its behavior and appearance. Some hunt. Some cooperate. Many go extinct. 



No two cells are exactly the same. All mechanics are inspired by real cellular biology, emphasizing emergent complexity. Cells have functional organelles defined by their genes. Genes pass down through generations, accumulating tiny mutations until they evolve into new strains. Resources drive behavior. Interactions create emergent effects you didn't predict. Simple organic systems combine into a living simulation. 



Every mutation is visible. The cells fluoresce with life as they consume resources, replicate, and compete. Each color is a reflection of their genetic code.

Every gene mutates independently, and any cell can mutate to have any number of any gene. The only limit is natural selection. 


Every cell's behavior is driven by a miniature neural network and genetic algorithms. Nothing is scripted.

Your cells aren't alone. Cultivate them to develop evolutionary advantages and outgrow the competition. Use chemistry as a weapon. Claim zones to control the resources your rivals depend on. Annihilate them. 

Catalogue your unique strains and document their lineages. They become more valuable as they dominate the substrate, creating a growing economic engine.

I'm solo developing this with a background in cellular neuroscience. I wanted to make a beautiful, chaotic biology sim inspired by fluorescent microscopy. I hope you enjoy!
