What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cropageddon’s core combat and progression are in place. I want player feedback to help refine how melee, magic, and environmental interactions work together, and how the challenge develops across a run.

As a solo developer, I’ll use Early Access to improve balance and polish while expanding the selection of levels and game modes. Feedback will help me decide which additions and improvements to prioritize.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 12 months. This timeline allows for proper implementation of planned features, community feedback integration, and thorough balancing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more handcrafted levels and game modes, improve visual effects, UI and combat feedback, and further refine the existing gore and dismemberment systems.

I also plan to adjust weapon and spell balance, progression, and difficulty based on playtesting and community feedback. These are development goals; their scope and priorities may change during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“• 3 handcrafted levels.
• 2 game modes: clearing a set number of enemy waves and surviving until a timer runs out.
• 4 melee weapons and 5 spells, including telekinesis for picking up and throwing objects and enemies.

• 4 enemy types.
• Environmental combat using pits, spikes, barrels, and throwable objects or enemies.
• Dismemberment, freezing and shattering, and the ability to pin enemies to walls.
• A hideout where you buy equipment between levels and practice on a training dummy.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price will be lower than the full release price to reward early supporters. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community by collecting feedback through the Steam forums and regular playtests. Player input will help me fine-tune the game’s balance and improve gameplay elements to ensure the best possible experience.”

About This Game

THE HARVEST FIGHTS BACK

A Maya curse turned the crops into monsters. Now the corn wants you dead.

Cropageddon is a first-person action roguelite with brutal melee, destructive magic, and arenas full of opportunities to turn the fight in your favor.

MAKE THE ARENA YOUR WEAPON

Inspired by the combat of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Cropageddon brings melee, magic, and environmental kills into a roguelite structure. Kick a monster into spikes, hurl a barrel into an approaching crowd, or cut through the cursed harvest yoursel

FIGHT. RETURN. REARM

Gather Mojo during your run, then return to the hideout between levels to buy weapons and spells. Practice with your purchases on the training dummy before taking them into the next fight.

Your equipment choices shape the current run. Permanent unlocks expand the weapons and spells available to buy in future attempts.

Boons improve your stats and abilities for the current level. Take advantage of them while they last; they expire when the level ends.

MASTER THE ARENAS

Fight through handcrafted arenas with varying objectives: clear a set number of enemy waves or stay alive until the timer runs out.

Learn where the hazards are, find opportunities to use them, and return with different equipment to try another approach.

TL;DR:

  • First-person melee and magic combat inspired by Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

  • Two stances: Melee and Mage

  • Fixed levels with rotating game modes

  • Unlock permanent weapons and spells to pick from at the start of every run

  • Boons that change your abilities each level

  • Every run is a fresh start, but with a growing pool of unlocked weapons and spells to choose from
