Coming Soon To Early Access

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DIGGER is a co-op game built around player interaction: proximity voice chat, webcams shown on each robot’s screen, and monsters that react to light and noise. The best way to balance that kind of game is with real groups of players. Early Access lets us test the mine generator, monster behaviour, difficulty curve and quota economy with the community, fix issues quickly, and shape the remaining content around what players actually enjoy. We are fully committed to continuing development, listening to feedback and seeing DIGGER through to its full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6 to 12 months, depending on community feedback and how much content we add along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include:

New monsters, each with their own behaviour and counterplay
New room types, with more environmental hazards
More tools and items at the Merchant
A longer progression with harder quotas and a proper ending to a run
More cosmetics for the robots
Balancing of monsters, ore values and quotas based on player feedback
Performance optimisation, bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish of a run, solo or with up to 6 players. It currently includes:

Procedurally generated mines, up to 6 levels deep, with treasure rooms behind rockfalls
Ore mining with a skill-based QTE, a daily quota and a deadline at midnight
5 monster types: golems hiding in ore veins, grabbers that drag players deeper, spider impostors that copy a player’s face, moth swarms attracted by light, and toxic gas pockets
A Merchant with 13 tools (lanterns, bombs, rope, skateboard, map, hammer, canary and more)
Proximity voice chat and live webcams displayed on the robots
A tutorial, robot customisation with hats and colours, and Steam achievements
7 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Simplified Chinese”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don’t plan to change the price between Early Access and full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will directly guide our priorities: which monsters and tools to add, how hard the quotas should be, and which bugs to fix first. We read the Steam Discussions regularly and will post development updates and patch notes on Steam.”
