Leaving Early Access: 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game can be completed, but is still in beta and is missing some optional content we originally planned for the full release. Expect bugs, and log them in the bug report discussion. We'll be checking discussions frequently, and we'd love to hear your feedback!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Moorage will have a full release mid-2027, exact quarter TBD.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Moorage will have content that was cut to meet deadlines: quests, new characters, a new type of fish, and more! We'd also like to incorporate player feedback and make Moorage as polished and enjoyable as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All major mechanics planned for the base game are implemented and able to be played, this includes:

- The core fishing, crafting and cooking mechanics.
- Character arcs, interactions, and romances routes.
- Unlockable equipment and Island renovations.
- The full story can be experienced.

The game is in a beta state, and bugs are expected. To report them, please do so in our bug report discussion. For more information on the listed mechanics, please see our "About this" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will stay the same on full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'd like community members to design the newest type of fish for Moorage. We will send out an announcement when this contest begins, but you can also join our discord for more updates!”

About This Game

Moorage is a first-person 3D fishing roguelite where you play as a fisher lost at sea. Meet those stranded like you, craft using fish parts, and set out to find the source of the waves. Or, better yet, a way home.

CATCH FISH!

With over 150 different fish and 9 biomes to explore, you can catch anything from the humble sand smelt to a naval mine fish?? Complete your bestiary, find the most bizarre fish, and get tons of rewards!

NOT YOUR AVERAGE FISHING!

The core fishing minigame is inspired by Undyne's fight in Undertale and rhythm games such as Music Diver or Osu! Move the green bar to catch the incoming arrows. Catch them all to reel in a big one!

CRAFT, COOK, AND SURVIVE!

Use the excess fish you have to feed yourself or craft unique items. Additionally, you may meet some people on the water who can help you reach your destination...

LOSING MAKES YOU STRONGER!

Return to the island to explore, progress the story, and learn more about the people stranded here. Sell your fish, buy new rods, and select new modifiers to make your next fishing journey a good one!

CHARACTERS GROW, INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER, AND MAYBE... LIKE YOU???

Bond with the characters on the island! You can invite them on your boat and spend time with them. You could even spark a romance if you're feeling lucky.
