Welcome to West Grove Academy, a prestigious school for students bonded with “spirit animals,” remnants of the Jinmenju tree that mirror each person’s personality. Toft, our protagonist, is the only student without any spirit animal. Spirits of Jinmenju is a psychological mystery visual novel that combines investigation, character connections, and slow-burn horror. You’ll explore the academy, interact with classmates, and uncover the unsettling truth that connects folklore, yokai, science and other mythology. Rather than jump scares or violence, the game’s tension builds through atmosphere, conversations, and the gradual realization that not everything at West Grove is what it seems. As you dive deeper into the game, more becomes revealed and the more gruesome things become.
