Microlandia is a meticulously accurate city builder. with cozy voxel graphics inspired by classics of the genre, but with a complex simulation under the hood.

The structures of everyday life, simulated

•  Citizens get sick and if there's no hospital capacity, they die waiting for healthcare.

•  If they show up late for work they could get fired.

•  Some of them will strongly oppose controversial construction projects in their neighborhood, leading to public backlash and moving away.

•  When companies don't make ends meet, they go bankrupt and unemployment rises.

•  Landlords are greedy and increase rents when the supply is scarce.

•  Citizens fall in and out of love and can have children.

•  When citizens can't find a job for some time, they consider a career in the criminal underworld.

Hard decisions with strong impact

•  Tax rates for property, income, sales and corporate revenue changes shape the economics of your city in complex ways.

•  City infrastructure is a huge investment for the city.

•  Fees for car licenses, public transport, tourism and business incorporation shifts the delicate balance between city revenue and people's incentives.

•  A newspaper tracks your every move and reports on all the city's happenings and problems you will be blamed for.

•  Rezoning land is extremely difficult as you need to compensate the property owners and inhabitants.

•  Recessions, heatwaves, pandemics and other random events will test your capacity and planning.

•  Simulation mechanics are carefully modeled after publications like World Bank Open Data, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Equity Atlas, Center for Urban Future and more.

•  The objective is to build a good enough simulation so it can provide real insights into the social, economic, and environmental challenges of modern life.

Active development

•  The game is under active development and we have ambitious plans for years to come. In new versions, we aim to add new mechanics, features and make the simulation deeper to capture the complexity of city life in great detail.

•  There will be no Microlandia 2. Instead, we will keep updating and improving.

•  No DLCs or expansions. All content updates will be included in future versions.

•  No in-game purchases, we believe it's the worst invention since pineapple in pizza.
