About This Demo

Mine. Build. Survive.

Arrive with empty hands. Leave commanding a fleet.

MineEngineer is a 2D space survival sandbox where engineering is the gameplay. You begin adrift and alone. Chip ore from an asteroid, build your first small ship, bolt on a drill, and set out for richer rock.

Everything you build is made from real, functional blocks. Ships, stations and factories have physics, mass and inertia. Your imagination sets the shape, but the engineering decides whether it actually works.

Build anything, if the engineering holds

Create ships and bases of any shape, size or purpose, block by block.

Build a tiny mining ship, a cargo hauler, a fighter, a mobile base, an industrial station or something completely your own. Shape hulls with armor, angled and curved plating, windows and pressurized rooms.

Mass, thrust, inertia and block-by-block destruction all matter.

A design can look perfect and still fail.

Build it. Test it. Fix it. Make it better.

Turn raw resources into an industrial operation

Start by mining and crafting things yourself. Then build machines that do the work for you.

Drills feed conveyors. Conveyors move ore to refineries. Refineries produce materials for assemblers. Assemblers create the components you need to build more machines, ships and factories.

Mine → Refine → Manufacture → Automate → Expand.

A well-built factory needs no hands once it is running.

Connect your power, fuel and oxygen systems and keep them working together. Solar panels, hydrogen engines, uranium reactors, atmospheric turbines and batteries all have their place.

A failed system can bring the rest down with it.

Build machines, not just buildings

Take control from a cockpit, run an entire base from its control panel, or operate distant ships and drones remotely.

Use thrusters, gyroscopes, ion thrusters, landing gear, docking ports, pistons, rotators, radar, displays and more.

Build cranes, elevators, mining rigs, remote vehicles, defense systems and machines that would not exist in another game unless you designed them yourself.

The Dual Cockpit lets two players operate the same ship together. One can fly while the other handles the weapons.

Make your machines think

Automation goes beyond conveyors.

Sensors can detect ships, players and threats. Programmable Stations can read your grid and trigger actions, letting you build automatic doors, defense systems, mining systems and other self-running machines.

Start with visual logic when you want to keep things simple. Go deeper with scripting when you want full control.

You decide what your machines should do.

Then you build the system that makes it happen.

Mine planets and asteroids

Resources are scattered throughout a huge procedural solar system.

Search asteroid fields for valuable ores, drill into planets and explore underground caves for the materials you need to keep expanding.

Travel between worlds with different gravity, atmospheres and hazards. Search for buried resources with Ore Searchers, tear through rock with heavy Drills and collect floating debris with Vacuum Extractors.

Sometimes the resources you need are in the most dangerous places.

Survive a hostile universe

Space is not forgiving.

Oxygen runs out. Fuel runs out. Power systems fail. Hulls take damage. Meteorite storms and solar radiation can destroy anything left exposed.

A breach can turn a working ship into a death trap.

Survival is an engineering problem too.

Your life support, power generation, transportation and defenses all need to keep working while everything around you tries to break them.

Fight with engineering, not just firepower

Build ballistic Guns, Laser Guns, tracking Turrets, Landmines and other defenses.

Combat happens block by block.

Destroy an enemy's thrusters and strand them. Take out their power and disable their weapons. Damage their oxygen systems. Break through the hull and board the ship.

Every block can matter.

Armor and layout can be more important than raw size.

Bigger isn't better. Smarter wins.

Explore a huge procedural universe

Asteroid fields drift through space. Planets hide resources and underground caves. Distant worlds give you new places to build, mine and explore.

The universe is generated as you play, so there is always somewhere further to go and another place to build.

Your factory can stay behind while you travel.

Or your factory can travel with you.

Build together or compete

Play solo or with friends.

Build and operate one ship together, split up across a large factory, create specialized mining and combat ships, or travel as a fleet.

Trade resources, defend your bases, raid enemy ships, board them and take them apart block by block.

Whether you build together or turn your engineering against other players is up to you.

Make it yours

Play Survival or Creative mode.

Save your best designs as Blueprints and build them again whenever you need them. Set up autonomous mining rigs and factories that keep working while you are somewhere else.
