What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I believe the best way to create a fresh and exciting ghost investigation game is to build it alongside the community. Daughter of Voodoo blends Voodoo rituals, clairvoyant abilities, and classic paranormal investigation tools into a unique experience, and I want your feedback to help shape it.

Early Access gives players the chance to explore these mechanics early, share ideas, and help me refine the balance, pacing, and features. With your input, I can ensure the game grows into its full potential.

Join me on this journey, and together we’ll make Daughter of Voodoo the best it can be.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Daughter of Voodoo to remain in Early Access for at least one year. During this time, I’ll be adding new content, expanding features, and improving core systems based on community feedback and our development roadmap.

The exact timeline may change depending on progress; If I feel the game needs more time to reach its full potential, Early Access could be extended. Once I’m confident in its quality and scope, I’ll move forward with a full release.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version of Daughter of Voodoo I plan to feature several new locations with fresh ghosts and mysteries to investigate, additional collectibles that expand the protagonist’s story, more ghost types with unique behaviors and characteristics, and expanded inventory items to aid in investigations.

I also, plan to make significant balance and gameplay adjustments based on community feedback throughout Early Access. I am also open to the addition of entirely new systems inspired by player ideas to further enrich the experience.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes many of the core mechanics so players can experience the foundation of the game and provide feedback from day one.

At launch, there is enough content to offer an average playtime of over 2.5 hours, with investigations, rituals, and systems that showcase the direction of the game.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The game is planned to be offered at a lower price during Early Access, with the price likely increasing as we approach the full release and more content and features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to the development of Daughter of Voodoo. I encourage players to share their thoughts and ideas through the Steam forums, our Discord server, and my other social platforms.

My goal is to build the game together with the community: Shaping mechanics, balancing systems, and expanding content based on your feedback.

I also want the community to be a space where players can connect with one another, share experiences, and help guide the game’s evolution. Your discussions and suggestions will directly influence new features, improvements, and the direction of development.

About This Game

Daughter of Voodoo is a first person, single player narrative horror experience where ancestral Voodoo rituals intersect with the unseen world of the dead. You play as Marie Laurette, a clairvoyant priestess who walks the fragile boundary between the living and the spirits who refuse to move on.

Using authentic Voodoo practices, you commune with restless spirits, guide them toward the afterlife, and uncover the truths that bind them to this world. Craft ritual objects such as mojo bags, perform sacred ceremonies, and deepen your connection to the realm of the dead as each case unfolds.

Your clairvoyant sight allows you to pierce the veil and glimpse the spirit world directly. There, you witness traces of a spirit’s final moments and uncover clues no ordinary investigator could reach. Not every spirit wishes to be seen, and some will resist your presence.

Ritual work is supported by vintage paranormal investigation tools, including tape recorders, microphones, and cameras. Each investigation draws you into tense, unpredictable encounters where subtle sounds, shifting shadows, and fleeting manifestations may signal truth, or danger.

Every haunting tells a story. Every spirit carries an unresolved truth. Discover what binds them to the living world and decide what must be done to finally set them free.
