Why Early Access?

“Throughout 2025, I've been pouring my heart and soul into the development of Rift Fishing, and I'm ready to show it to you! The involvement of you, the community, is crucial for this game. I want to make Rift Fishing the best it can be, and that is not possible without your input and feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Since the involvement of the community is one of my top priorities, it will depend a lot on you and your feedback. I'm aiming for you to always have a great experience while playing the game, and bring not just content but also improvements to existing systems with each update.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Rift Fishing is a complete experience. During Early Access I'm planning to add and improve features based on community feedback. Like new customization, animal species, and more. I'm also planning to add multiple features like housing, extended customization, new types of creatures, as well as new ways to catch them, and many more social activities. Beyond that, my plan is to extend the world of Rift Fishing with new locations and environments.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Everything that is listed under the 'About this game' section will be included during the Early Access release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I believe a higher price when leaving Early Access is fair. It should also help develop the game further with your feedback.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“It's very important to me to listen to your feedback. The easiest way for now is to submit suggestions to our "Suggestions" forum in the Rift Fishing Discord server. I'm also gathering feedback from other social channels and the Steam forums. It is difficult to monitor them all while developing the game. If you want to be sure that your suggestion has been heard, the best place is currently the Rift Fishing Discord server!”

About This Game

Fish all the Riftlings!

Welcome to a mystical island where the waters aren't quite what they seem. Beneath the surface, shimmering rifts open into other worlds. And you're here to fish them! Join up to 12 players from around the globe to catch bizarre creatures, paint by the shore, jam at the campfire, and uncover what lies in the depths of the Rift.

  • Fish through Rifts: These mysterious worlds hold unknown creatures and artifacts

  • Share the vibes: Hang out with 12 players, skip stones, roll dice and throw paper planes

  • 80+ Riftlings to catch: Not your regular fish! Some cute, some scary!

  • Collect artifacts & upgrades: Equip mysterious gear from the Rift to fish deeper and catch rarer creatures

  • Customize yourself: Your clothing, body, face, colors, voice, and unlock minigames

  • Paint canvases: Mix ink to make new colors, unlock brushes and save your creations

  • Create music: Compose music and play the guitar to your friends at the campfire

  • Fill the Riftpedia: Catalogue findings and specialties about the Riftlings

  • Complete expeditions: Hunt specific Riftlings and unlock unique rewards
