Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to ship a playable core and iterate in public. Explovival lives and dies by balance: the garbage→cleanup→resource loop, the foraging loop, and how the buddy drone executes player-planned tasks. Early Access lets us tune these systems with real data and community feedback, then prioritize co-op and base systems based on demand.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
Our best estimate is 6–12 months. Scope decisions (co-op depth, base/mineshaft system) may extend this window.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim to expand and refine the experience:

Drone & tasking: robust task manager, smarter queueing, QoL (batch operations, priorities).

Base (mineshaft): underground base loop (power, storage, upgrades), integration with cleanup progress.

Co-op (optional): shared task lists, permissions, proximity UI.

Progression: upgrades for drone & raccoon, weather/season synergies, new hazards.

World content: additional biomes/POIs, more garbage sets & plant varieties, events.

Meta & polish: achievements, online Hardcore leaderboard, optimization, accessibility, controller support.
(We won’t promise specific dates/features; we’ll publish a public roadmap and adjust with the community.)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable core with:

Exploration of a ~4×4 km island (beach → forest → volcano).

Weather & seasons (MVP).

Foraging (harvest/consume plants).

Buddy drone with basic task list (discover/mark/clean garbage, hauling basics).

Garbage cleanup with visible island progress.

Limited UI (appears only when you call the drone).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to increase by full release as content and systems expand. We may make incremental adjustments during EA. Early supporters keep their purchase and Red Panda bonus.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Public roadmap and polls on the Steam hub (priorities for co-op, base, Hardcore tweaks).

Regular builds & changelogs (aiming for weekly/biweekly) and telemetry-informed tuning.

Forums & Discord for bug reports, balance feedback, feature requests.

Occasional experimental branch for opt-in testing of larger changes.”

About This Game

Explovival, not just another survival.

You’re a wounded raccoon stranded on a trashed island. The last AI tried to heal you with nanobots, lost context, and turned them into drone-command bots. You’re healed - but now hard-linked to a buddy drone that handles what you can’t. Together, you reclaim the island: clear human leftovers for resources, forage plants to survive, and face weather & seasons. The world stays visible: the UI appears only when you call the drone.

Play by senses, not by bars.

  • A growling stomach means hunger.

  • A limp means injury.

  • Sniffing the ground means thirst.
When you need details, call your drone. She shows the HUD as long as you want – then the world stays clear again.

Core Ideas

  • Explovival: exploration + calm survival, no dopamine spam.

  • Day/Night & Seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter. Some plants only grow in certain months – if you don’t prepare during summer, winter will test your survival.

  • Buddy-drone & task list: you plan, your drone executes.

  • Garbage gameplay: discover → mark → recycle; visible island progress.

  • Hardcore mode – “The Real Challenge”: 1 day = 24 minutes, 1 year = 365 in-game days. Permadeath: on death, all saves are wiped; only a gravestone remains (later: online leaderboard).

  • ~4×4 km island: beach, forest, volcano – dynamic weather & seasons.

  • Roadmap: single-player first, co-op if the community decides.

  • Early supporter bonus: playable red panda.

Feature List

  • New sub-genre Explovival — focused, chill, still demanding.

  • Buddy-drone with smart task list (collecting, cleaning, hauling).

  • Garbage gameplay: discover → mark → clean; visible island progress.

  • Plant loop: discover, harvest, consume; tied to weather/seasons.

  • Limited UI: appears only on drone request.

  • Hardcore additional Gamemode -> Permadeath: gravestone save + (later) online leaderboard.

  • ~4×4 km island: beach → forest → volcano; living weather systems.

  • Single-player; co-op planned (community-driven).

  • Early Supporter: Red Panda playable variant.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI usage (development & marketing only).
DroneCoon: Reboot Earth does not generate content live during gameplay and does not accept user prompts. During development we used generative AI as an assistive tool for concept iterations, draft copy, a few placeholder VO snippets and select textures/marketing assets. All outputs were reviewed, edited, and curated by the team to avoid inappropriate or copyrighted material. Final in-game content is fixed and non-interactive. If any asset is reported via Steam’s tools, we will remove or replace it promptly. There is no user-generated content and no live AI systems in the shipped game.

Content note: themes of pollution/cleanup and survival (possible death from exposure or starvation), no combat, no gore.
