Survive an island overrun by dinosaurs

Epoch Extinction is a top down survival game set on a modern island overrun by dinosaurs. Search abandoned houses and stores, gather supplies and build a camp while you work toward getting off the island.

Dinosaurs can hear the noise you make, follow you into buildings and break through your defenses and big dinosaurs can destroy them. You need to decide when to stay quiet, when to hide and when to fight.

Hide, distract or fight

Hide under a tarp and hold your breath while a dinosaur passes. You can also crouch behind a smaller dinosaur and perform a stealth kill.

Throw a can to make noise away from your position. A dinosaur investigating it can give you an opening to get past.

Fight with firearms and melee weapons, chain melee attacks and dodge incoming hits. Shooting can attract more dinosaurs, and propane grills can be shot to set off explosions.

Explore the island

Dinosaurs roam the streets and forests and can fight each other. Explore abandoned buildings and the coastline, with changing light through the day and night. You can also swim in the ocean.

Search without drawing attention

Search buildings for food, water, tools and ammunition. Search quickly if you are in a hurry, take your time or use rags to reduce the noise. A dinosaur investigating the sound may enter the building while you are still inside.

Build and defend your camp

Chop trees, mine rocks and turn the resources you gather into building materials. Load logs into a wheelbarrow and push them to your camp instead of carrying them one at a time.

Build campfires, generators and fences. Use a workbench to make bolts and power a saw table to turn logs into planks.

Reinforce your camp, but do not count on a fence to keep every dinosaur out. Large dinosaurs can break through.

Fish for food

Fish from the shore and cook your catch over a campfire. Keep an eye on your surroundings while you wait for a bite.

Prepare for the next trip

Keep track of your health, hunger, thirst and stamina. Cook dinosaur meat at a campfire, fill water bottles and purify the water before drinking it.

Manage how much you carry, equip protective clothing and keep weapons and consumables in quick access. Earn experience from combat and spend skill points on melee upgrades.

Find a way off the island

Read notes, search for transmitter parts and gather the materials for a radio tower. Assemble a transmitter and send a signal for help. The signal attracts dinosaurs, so prepare your camp before using it.

Epoch Extinction is being developed by a solo indie developer. Online cooperative play is planned for the full release.
