About This Demo

LIMITED TIME DEMO - The demo will be live through November 3rd.

From the makers of The Blackout Club and The Magic Circle comes The Killing Stone. A card battler with beautiful stylized art, animated figurines, dazzling effects, haunted sound and music, and an original first-person narrative set in the 17th century in a remote region of the Arctic circle.

The Killing Stone Demo includes the following game content:

  • Tutorial, Learn the basics of the card battle system from the mysterious One Eye.

  • Story Introduction and Early Content, Explore in first person the remote Svangård mansion. Learn of the family curse brought on by the late matriarch, talk with animal familiars, and get the lay of the land.

  • Challenging and Rewarding Turn Based Gameplay, With a unique Reserve system, players can position buffs and creatures above the battle line that drop into place and allow for chaining sequences that allow for clever tactics and fiendish turnarounds.

  • Play a full Ritual run, Build a deck with one of the family members in an initial Ritual with several pages full of card battles and opportunities to modify your deck. You can repeat this ritual as many times as you like after you beat the demo to try out different combinations of Creatures, Incantations, and Chants.

  • Bargain with Demons, Each Ritual gives you a chance to outwit your foe and add new balance-tilting helpful Boons or troublesome Banes to the family member's deck.

  • Switch between 17th century period English and Modern Prose, The game's VO and English language text are available in two styles which you can decide when starting a new game or at any time in the options menu. (Other languages will be coming in the full 1.0 game launch, but the demo is only these two English translations for now)

  • Beautiful painterly art and haunting sound and music. The Killing Stone features Question's unique storytelling, highlighted with a distinct and original gameplay style in both gameplay figurines and a rich atmosphere.

Unlock much more exciting content and features in the full game, including more family members, demons, and a full story with multiple endings!

Purge the Svangård family’s hereditary curse. Hopefully, without losing your own soul. Beat the Devil at his own game.

LOCALIZATION NOTE: The Demo Build is only available in "Modern English" and 17th century-style "Period English". The full game, however, will be translated into more languages.

STEAM DECK NOTE: Internally, we think the game is fairly playable on the Steam Deck, but we are looking for feedback. Please try it and let us know what is working and what isn't on our Discord or on the Steam Forums!
