Why Early Access?

“I want players involved while Tollway Tycoon is still growing and being developed. The game is a big messy sandbox of traffic, staff, disasters and weird events, and the most fun parts will come from seeing how people actually break it. Early Access lets me tune the balance, add new chaos, and shape future updates directly around player feedback so we end up with a genuinely great, replayable management game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Having already shipped a complete game (The Red Front), my aim is to have the full release completed within 6-9 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan on expanding more events, disasters and "weird" encounters, plus more staff options and upgrades. Based on player feedback, we are looking to incorporate balance, performance, visuals and other ways for chaos to make the game more fun.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is already playable: you can run a toll operation across multiple in-game days, manage staff, respond to breakdowns, events and road damage. You can upgrade your HQ, booths and road, and try to keep traffic and finances under control while random chaos hits. However, content is still limited, some systems are rough or missing, balance is not final, and you should absolutely expect bugs, jank, and occasional catastrophic pile-ups.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I expect the price to increase once Early Access is over and more content and features have been added. Early Access players will keep the game and all future updates at the lower entry price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’ll be actively listening on the Steam forums (and Discord), sharing update plans, and asking for feedback on new systems, balance changes, and event ideas. I want to react quickly to what players are enjoying or struggling with, run small experiments, and let the community help decide which types of chaos, upgrades, and quality-of-life features should be prioritised next.”
