What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is being developed chapter by chapter, and Early Access exists to make players a direct part of that process.
By releasing chapters gradually, we can actively gather feedback, refine the experience, and shape future content together with the community.

Early Access players are not just playing early — they are supporting development and helping guide the direction of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is expected to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months.

The game will remain in Early Access while chapters are being developed and refined.
Rather than committing to a fixed timeline, development will progress based on feedback, iteration, and overall quality goals.

Our priority is delivering meaningful chapters and a polished final experience.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include:

All story chapters released as a complete experience

Additional biomes, characters, and narrative events

Expanded mechanics and encounters

Improved pacing, balance, visuals, and audio based on community feedback

Early Access allows us to evolve the game step by step, ensuring later chapters benefit from what players share with us early on.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes:

The first complete chapter

Around one hour of gameplay

Core mechanics, narrative tone, and atmosphere fully implemented

The experience is playable and stable, while future chapters and refinements are actively in development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access version is designed as a lifetime support edition.
Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive all future chapters for free, as a thank-you for supporting development early.

As new chapters are released, we may adjust pricing for new players, but Early Access supporters will keep full access at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is a core part of development. We plan to:

Collect feedback through Steam discussions and direct communication

Stay in regular contact with players via email for thoughts, suggestions, and testing

Actively integrate community feedback into future chapters, pacing, and design decisions

Early Access players will have a real impact on how the game grows and evolves.”

About This Game

About This Game

Starfell is a story-driven indie game focused on atmosphere, narrative, and psychological tension.

At first, the game presents itself as one built around choice and freedom. Dialogues shift, paths branch, and the player is encouraged to interact with the world. Beneath that surface, however, every path ultimately leads to the same conclusion. This loss of control is intentional — Starfell is not about shaping the story, but about slowly realizing that you never truly could.

There is no traditional RPG progression. The game features no leveling system, no grinding, and no constant combat. Each chapter unfolds through exploration and dialogue, building toward a single, carefully designed boss encounter. Combat is rare, deliberate, and tightly tied to the narrative.

Starfell blends visual novel–style storytelling with light RPG influences, prioritizing mood, pacing, and psychological discomfort over action. The experience is designed to make the player question their role, their agency, and the meaning behind their decisions.

Key Features

• Story-focused experience with psychological themes
• Visual novel–style progression with RPG influences
• An intentional illusion of choice — all paths converge
• No leveling system or repetitive combat
• One narrative-driven boss fight per chapter
• Strong emphasis on atmosphere and pacing
• Humor mixed with unease and subtle horror
• A single ending, experienced through different perspectives

Starfell is made for players who enjoy slow-burning, unsettling narratives and games that challenge the idea of player control.

Contains mature themes and occasional strong language. (+16)

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Development of Visual Assets:
For the original sprites (game characters/objects) designed and drawn by our team, AI support was utilized in the time-consuming stages such as coloring and shading. This allowed us to accelerate the process and experiment with different color palettes. AI was used strictly as a tool for editing and enhancing the existing artwork.

Software Development Support:
During the coding phase, AI-based code assistants were occasionally consulted to help solve specific algorithmic challenges, optimize existing code blocks, and overcome debugging difficulties.

We would like to emphasize that AI has only been employed as a source of inspiration and a productivity aid throughout these processes. All final visual and code assets included in the game have been reviewed, adjusted, and approved by our team. No AI-generated content is produced in real time during gameplay.
