Inky the kitten is getting ready to celebrate New Year in his home village of Mora. He collects and wraps presents, spends time with his friends, and goes about the usual holiday preparations. It seems like a quiet, ordinary winter lies ahead.

But an announcement on New Year’s Eve changes everything. Ahead lie a train journey, an unfamiliar city, and an attempt to start over in a place where even the right to stay has to be proven.
