Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 1 year.
My goal is to shape Stout Kayak with the help of players, polish the gameplay, until it reaches a strong full release. After that, I plan to keep evolving the game through regular updates and new DLC maps.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Stout Kayak already captures the core of what I want to share — freedom, adrenaline, and nature.
I plan to add multiplayer gameplay, develop Xbox/PlayStation controller support, expand survival systems, enhance character and kayak customization, and experiment with immersive gameplay mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Stout Kayak is a full 3D whitewater kayaking simulation featuring a large open map with rivers, waterfalls, and multiple play spots. The game includes realistic physics with force and torque, allowing players to perform freestyle tricks like boof, carve, flip, cobra flip, and eskimo roll.

The environment features dynamic day/night cycles, weather effects like rain and fog, and interactive elements such as trucks to reach out places and campgrounds with tents friends and campfires. Players can surf waves, race on a river section, cliff dive from platforms, and explore caves to find hidden diamonds.

The gameplay offers both third-person and first-person perspectives, with player-activated cameras placed along rivers. A survival system influences player temperature, requiring warming by fires to avoid slowing down. The music system allows players to play music in kayaks or trucks, adding to immersion.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The plan is to read player feedback on the Steam forums and elsewhere, and use it to improve the game during Early Access. I care a lot about the experience and want to make it as fun and solid as possible.”
