#A Letter from the Producer

Greetings, friends of Danmo Three Kingdoms!

I am Bamboo from Mo Chunqiu, the producer who always seems to show up at the most critical moments.

It has been 170 days since development officially began—roughly 2,040 working hours, not counting the overtime we worked. During this painful yet joyful journey, Dan has gained a noticeable amount of weight (he insists it’s “stress-induced”); Bin’s hairline has begun its strategic retreat; and the rest of the team has shown various signs of “de-evolution,” such as staring blankly at screens or laughing for no reason.

Finally, we managed to push our little boat, "Danmo Three Kingdoms: Battle of Wits," to the riverbank. We plan to let this boat set sail on January 27, 2026!

Right now, my heart feels like a choir of ten thousand vocalists singing a chaotic symphony of nerves. To be honest, Danmo Three Kingdoms is still a long way from the "perfect ink-wash epic" we envision. What we have now is only the most solid, core framework—the bare bones.

I can already hear some of you asking: "Isn't this an unfinished product? Why not wait until it's done?" We understand that concern. But we fear something even more: locking ourselves in a dark room for three to five years, building a game we think is great—only to discover it doesn’t truly suit its players. So we chose a riskier path: Meet earlier. Get criticized earlier. Fix earlier. Improve earlier.

To make sure no one buys the game without knowing exactly what they’re getting, we want to be completely upfront. As perhaps the most honest dev team on the internet, we’ll lay out our shortcomings plainly. Before you enlist, please be aware of the following:

  • The Gameplay "Skeleton": TThe core gameplay is in place, but this is only version 1.0. The breadth of builds and overall balance still needs refinement, and that will happen through your testing.

  • The Art "Regrets": Frankly speaking, only about 40% of the core character illustrations have reached our ideal standard. The rest are… serviceable, but not yet impressive. Character animations are still under development.

  • A "Rough" UI: The current maps and UI prioritize usability over beauty. The grandeur of the land and the sense of immersion will take time and polish to fully realize.

  • A Special Note on "AI Usage": This is a topic we cannot avoid. As a small team with limited funding and manpower, we have used AI to assist in generating some functional characters, environments, and background music. This was not done out of laziness, but out of necessity—to survive and to ship. AI drastically reduced our costs and allowed the game to reach release. However, we promise every cent we earn will be reinvested into replacing AI assets with handcrafted iterations. We want the future of Danmo Three Kingdomgsto be full of human touch, not cold data.

  • The “Gaps” in the Story: What you see now is merely the overture to a much larger narrative. More interactive systems for the main campaign and combat modes are already in the pipeline.

It’s not perfect, but it’s everything we have right now. Regarding the future, Mo Chunqiu makes three oaths as our "After-Sales Guarantee":

  • This is a journey of at least three years. We chose a buy-to-play model so we wouldn’t be shackled by pay-to-win systems or numerical monetization. Launch is not the end—it’s only the beginning. We commit to high-frequency updates over the next three years.

  • Transparent Revenue. To keep the lights on, we will release large-scale paid DLCs in the future. However, we will simultaneously provide a steady stream of sincere free DLCs and optimizations. The initial purchase is your ticket in; our ongoing service is the real product.

  • You Hold the Steering Wheel. From the first minute of launch, we will be all ears. If it’s not fun, we change it. If there’s a bug, we fix it. Your criticism and suggestions will define what Danmo Three Kingdoms becomes.

Perhaps Danmo is currently just a piece of unpolished jade—or even just a rough stone. But we believe that with you as the "carving knife," we can shape it into a masterpiece. The journey is long and the waves are high. Our skills may need sharpening, but our attitude is unwavering.

As we wrote in the beta version: "Gaming is like chess; we are the pawns. Though we move slowly, you will never see us take half a step back!"

On January 27, the entire Mo Chunqiu team awaits you to test your blades!

Sincerely, With the utmost respect,

Bamboo, Mo Chunqiu

We are an independent Chinese development team passionate about history and strategy games. During development, just finalizing the art style alone went through more than five iterations. For us, this process was both a series of sprints and a long-distance journey. We ran back and forth between realism and artistic expression multiple times before finally finding the path we're on now—a style that won't overwhelm you with heavy colors nor leave you unimpressed with faint lines.

It’s like a brilliant strategist in the midst of battle—not stealing the general’s spotlight, but stepping in at the key moment to bring the entire campaign to life.

The game is still in development, and we sincerely welcome your active feedback to help us keep improving. We plan to add more Three Kingdoms commanders in future updates, along with continuously developing new storylines for everyone to experience!
