What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access for Attrition to get real player feedback on the core multiplayer loop and balance early, while we polish the tavern and add more cards. As a two-dev bootstrapped team, this lets us iterate fast based on what breaks (or shines) in live duels, ensuring the full release feels brutal and fair.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for a short Early Access period of about 6 weeks, launching in mid-December 2025 and targeting full release by the end of January 2026. This gives us time for weekly hotfixes and balance tweaks from playtests.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the full version with more cards, NPCs and Ai to fill out the tavern level, leaderboards, and character balancing based on feedback received. Early Access focuses on the core real-time duels and tavern lobby. Full release adds layers for replayability without changing the fundamental gameplay.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is playable with the core multiplayer loop: 1v1v1v1 real-time duels on a 3D tavern table, 30+ cards, Steam integration, and animated NPCs like our giant bartender. It's stable for playtests but expect bugs and balance tweaks. We're iterating weekly based on tester input.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Starting at a lower price in Early Access to reflect the alpha value. We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to run weekly playtests in our Discord for direct feedback, with bug reports and suggestions shaping hotfixes. Community votes on roadmap items (like new cards) in #feedback, plus devlogs on X/YouTube sharing progress.”
