Why Early Access?

“Bridgelands is being developed independently by a solo developer, and Early Access will allow the game to grow together with the community.

The game’s core structure is already defined, but player feedback will be very important for improving balance, identifying issues, refining existing systems, and understanding which content and mechanics work best during expeditions.

Early Access also makes it possible for development to continue in a sustainable way while new content is being created. The goal is to build a close and transparent relationship with the community, allowing players to follow and take part in Bridgelands’ evolution through to its full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is for Bridgelands to remain in Early Access for approximately 1 to 2 years.

This timeframe may change depending on community feedback, development progress, and the scope of the content added. The priority is to reach a complete, balanced, and polished version rather than rushing the final release to meet a specific date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Bridgelands is planned to offer a broader, more varied, and more polished experience.

Plans include adding new islands and biomes, enemies, Guardians, perks, equipment, challenges, objectives, and more ways to create builds during expeditions. Progression systems are also expected to expand, offering more decisions, combinations, and possibilities across different runs.

In addition to new content, development will continue to focus on combat balance, performance, accessibility, visual and audio quality, and overall improvements to the player experience.

These plans may be adjusted throughout development based on testing and community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Bridgelands already includes the core experience planned for the game.

Players can embark on expeditions with Flora, choose different routes, travel across islands, face creatures, complete objectives, and select perks to create new builds throughout each journey. Combat, movement, dashing, perk systems, and progression between islands are already part of the playable experience.

However, the amount of content is still smaller than what is planned for the full version. Some systems will continue to receive balance adjustments, interface improvements, optimizations, and refinements throughout Early Access.

New content and improvements will be added gradually through updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Bridgelands is expected to have a lower price during the beginning of Early Access.

As the game receives new content, systems, and significant improvements, the price may gradually increase to reflect the expansion of the experience being offered. The final version is expected to cost more than the initial Early Access price.

Any price changes will be communicated to the community in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will play an important role in the development of Bridgelands.

Players will be able to send suggestions, report issues, and share feedback on combat, balance, perks, enemies, progression, and other elements through the Steam forums and the official Discord server.

Feedback will be reviewed to help identify problems, set priorities, and guide improvements. This does not mean every suggestion will be implemented, but every contribution can help better understand the player experience and the best direction for the game.

Updates, development notes, and announcements will be shared regularly to keep the community informed about progress, implemented changes, and the next steps for Bridgelands.”
