Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer working on Blight Brigade on my free time. Early Access lets me ship the game in a state I'm proud of, then improve it based on what players actually do with it. What feels fun, which loot decisions matter, what the village needs more of, what it needs less of. I'd love an iterative approach blending my vision and how players play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan for Early Access to last around 12 months. If the game finds an audience and there's a clear reason to keep building, I'd rather extend that window than rush a 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build ships with two maps, a small set of monsters, and the full extraction loop. For 1.0, I plan to:

Add 2–3 additional maps set in different time periods
Introduce new monsters with their own behaviors and counters
Expand the buy table and evidence variety to deepen run-to-run replayability
Refine balance, pacing, and polish across the full game based on how players actually play it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“One complete map: a medieval village
One in-progress map: The sewers
Two monster types with distinct behaviors
The full extraction loop: investigate, manage exposure, extract before time runs out
Randomized loot and evidence spawns for replayability
1–4 player co-op, plus solo play
A buy table with consumables and survival gear
Lobby and time portal flow”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Blight Brigade will be priced lower during Early Access as a thank-you to players who support development early. I plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content and polish.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is the reason I'm doing Early Access. I plan to:

Run a Discord community as the primary feedback channel, where players can report bugs, suggest changes, and shape what gets prioritized
Watch how people actually play — what they avoid, what they exploit, what scares them, what bores them — and adjust accordingly
Be transparent about what I'm working on, what's coming next, and what isn't going to make it

I'm one developer, so I can't act on every suggestion. But I read everything, and the players who show up early will have a real influence on where the game goes.”

About This Game

A temporal blight consumed civilization centuries from now, leaving only one desperate solution: send plague doctors back to the beginning.

Up to 4 players co-op extraction horror game, you and your crew are initially dropped into a medieval village in the year 1367 to uncover how the infection first began.

You have a short amount of time before the wagon leaves.

Search abandoned homes, crypts, and plague pits for evidence of the blight’s origin. Recover artifacts, samples, and anything valuable enough to risk carrying home.

Bring back enough evidence to continue the investigation.
Do not let the blight follow you home.
