About This Game

This is a game project that brings the Proto-Indo-European language—the hypothesized common ancestor of English, Latin, Sanskrit, and the world’s largest language family—back to life. The ancient linguistic spirits, said to have existed around 6,000 years ago, are reborn as “Wild Words.”
Using the etymological learning method, which allows players to associate and memorize words by tracing them back to their roots, the game helps build a rich, three-dimensional vocabulary network in the brain. While this method is highly effective, it has traditionally been difficult and inaccessible to beginners.
Our game solves this problem through its unique characters and gameplay systems. Players collect the “ancestors” of English words, filling out a bestiary-like compendium and reconstructing a modern dictionary in a brand-new, gamified way.
