About This Game

Take control of one of four unique factions and weave your actions into legend! Tapestry is an asymmetrical wargame for 1-4 players where you must lock in your actions several turns in advance and adapt to survive. Navigate the dangers and politics of the various armies on the map and seize your victory!

Will your strategy prevail? Or will you fall — forgotten to history?

CHOOSE YOUR FACTION

In Tapestry, players choose one of 4 powerful factions to command and lead to victory. Every faction has a distinct play-style, with unique units and different win conditions.

Will you deploy the legions of Navros, using speed and power to claim the secrets of the ruins? Or will you side with the Deeproot Resistance - using your ranged fire and traps to defend your strongholds?

SELECT YOUR LEADER

Once you’ve chosen your faction and gathered your forces, you will need to pick a mighty champion to lead your army to victory! These leaders are the fastest and strongest units at your disposal and each comes with their own unique ability.

These abilities vary wildly, from the Catapult Leader, who can devastate foes from afar, to the Shadow Walker, who can teleport across the battlefield at a moment's notice. Every faction has its own roster of leaders to choose from, each offering a new fresh twist for the player to explore.

PREPARE FOR WAR

In our game, commands to your army are stored on banners. The order of these banners is locked in at the start of each chapter and while they CAN be moved around after this point, doing so comes at a cost!

Once all players have prepared their strategies, you will take turns resolving your banners until only one team stands victorious. As the game progresses, you’ll unlock new and powerful banners to expand your options of warfare!

SHARPEN YOUR BLADES AND READY YOUR DICE

As your forces collide with your enemies, combat will inevitably ensue. In our game, all combat is resolved with dice. Every type of unit in the game has its own unique dice, each with its own strengths. All is not up to chance though- as dice outcomes can be modified using consumable items.

While players can choose when to attack each other, enemies can only occupy the same space for so long until tensions ultimately boil over. Every three rounds, all factions sharing ground will be forced to engage in a Clash, attacking each other until only one remains in the hex.

ENTER THE WORLD IN CINEMATIC MODE

We want you to feel attached to your units and immersed in the world they live in, so in addition to the inspection animations, we’ve also added something we call Cinematic Mode! While in the overworld view of the game, you can choose to enter this mode to view a real-time scene of your units in action.

By default, players will enter this mode automatically during key moments, but this can be toggled off for those who want to enjoy a strategic view of the game uninterrupted.

BARGAINS AND BLOODSHED

As the war unfolds, you may wish to engage in diplomacy with the other players on the field. In our game, messages can only be sent from one faction to another. While the contents of these messages can only be viewed by their intended recipient, all players can see when one faction contacts another, so suspicions may arise.

You can manage treaties or send warnings using the built in diplomacy features, but keep in mind only one faction can win- so peace is often short-lived.

WEAVE YOUR LEGEND

Throughout the war, your actions will be chronicled and woven into a tapestry which can be viewed at any time. This tapestry will include everything from winning a battle to capturing a village to creating a deployment site. After the game is over, you can study your mistakes and triumphs to prepare for battles yet to come.

From across the sea, a powerful empire has set its sights on these prosperous lands. Strike first and strike hard with your troops, taking advantage of your surplus of attack commands and the many rivers across the board to quickly engage and devastate your enemies.

Coming down from the far mountains, a mighty kingdom marches to claim the new territories. Set up tactical formations on the board to unlock powerful unit synergies and turn the tide with your catapults and cavalries.

The invaders have come, but these forests are far from defenseless. Use your unparalleled familiarity with the land to race between objectives and strike with archers from the neighboring tree line, only to retreat back into the safety of the forest where your traps lay in wait. 

With the magic barriers gone, the ancient horrors that laid dormant have risen once more and with them an unstoppable army of the dead. Turn the rules of the game on their head and take advantage of the chaos to overwhelm and overrun any who may stand against the undead horde.
