Why Early Access?

“Severance is a multiplayer horror experience with unique mechanics, including player-controlled ghosts and randomized gameplay. Early Access allows me to gather feedback from a dedicated player base while fine-tuning the balance, improving performance, and expanding core systems based on how real players interact with them. I want the community to help shape the scares and surprises of Severance.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“i plan to stay in Early Access for another year. This gives me time to polish gameplay, balance the game perfectly, expand more on maps and content and respond to community feedback. The timeline isn’t set in stone. I'll take the time I need to get it right.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include
- Many more unique maps with different layouts and interactions
- Additional ghost types and investigating tools and equipment
- Have a full progression system, with unlocks, cosmetics and rewards
- Have many more ghost interactions and abilities and ways to play
- Quality improvements, including animations, jump-scares, ui and many more. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“- 2 maps: Manorfield's Ave and Asylum. with another house currently in the works
- A fun and scary replayable game loop
- 8 Core ghost types
- Multiple ghost hunting tools
- Working in-game voice comms
- Open lobbies to join other people or private lobbies for you and your friends”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually increase the price as we add new content and features. Early Access is priced to reward early supporters who help shape the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community are the key role in creating Severance, as I will take active feedback onboard and it will show through balance changes and content being added. Bug fixes and development will be the first approach, then following polls that the community can tell me what they want next.”

Severance is a 1-5 online co-op horror where one player can choose to play as the Ghost, the rest play as Investigators

🧟 Play as The Ghost
YOU are the ghost

Haunt the map and mentally break down your friends piece by piece. Drain their sanity while trying to avoid revealing your true ghost type, then hunt them down one by one in terrifying hunts

(AI Ghost can be chosen on multiplayer if your team chooses so)

Use Ecto-Energy to jump-scare, hunt, throw things, lock doors, keep the lights off and many more, all to drain their sanity. Do it wisely, as things you do may leave fingerprints, emf readings and any other type of evidence they may need.

Use classic paranormal tools to gather real evidence. Stay sharp: the ghost will try to mislead you, confuse you, and bait you into letting your guard down.
Sanity is your lifeline. Once it’s low enough, you’re next

🎧 Immersive Horror
Severance features realistic visuals, environmental audio, and a minimal UI for total immersion. Every sound, shadow, and flicker could be a clue or a warning

🛠 Signature Equipment
Arm yourself with classic paranormal tools, EMF meters, ghost-writing books, and other unique devices to uncover evidence and track the entity’s movements

🎤Voice Interaction
Use your real voice to communicate with your team and sometimes, the ghost itself

🤝 True Co-op
Success relies on teamwork. Share discoveries, and watch each other’s backs, because you never know what the ghost will do next
