WHAT WILL YOU BECOME?

In a world where people of the woods are made of paper, Lena, the only child of a dying forest, is rejected by her village. Years ago, a tyrannical king condemned her forest to death by stealing its heart to craft his scepter. Now, a deadly race is on to claim the dead king's scepter and become ruler of the land and its people.

Without its heart, the forest that birthed her is in anguish and Lena will have to choose. Will she force her way back to a home that doesn't want her, or restore life to the land that created her?

Inspired by timeless stories and things that go bump in the night, Cutout is a story-driven exploration of a fragile, darkly beautiful world where paper can tear and burn, but your broken pieces can be replaced.

✂️ CUT & PASTE COMBAT

Combat in Cutout is built around the idea that limbs are both targets and tools. Sever an enemy's arm or leg, then attach it to Lena to change how she fights, moves, and survives. Powerful arms empower Lena with new attacks, while a set of Velcro legs will have her scaling the walls like never before. A wide variety of arms and legs are available for players to experiment with so that they can create their own builds and unlock new possibilities for Lena, across both combat and exploration.

Beware--enemies play by the same rules. A lucky blow can remove one of Lena's prized limbs, which enemies can claim and attach to themselves. Every fight, and every part, can change what Lena becomes.

A HANDCRAFTED DARK FAIRYTALE

Every character is cut from paper. Every path, ruin, prop, and threat is assembled from cardboard, pencils, glue, tin foil, and the kinds of odds and ends you'd dig out of a junk drawer for a craft project.

At first the world of Cutout looks like a child’s handmade diorama. Looking closer, you'll find something more sinister beneath. Cutout is your gateway to a tactile world of fragile beauty and creeping decay where the monsters that lie waiting in the shadows aren't always figments of your imagination.
