Why Early Access?

“First I want to see if people are interested in the platforming and physics-based combat.

From there, I am not sure what direction to take the game beyond the few basic game modes.

Second, there are many "features" typical of a professional game that I am forgoing (like a polished menu, customization, input mapping configurations) in order to get to the play-evaluate-iterate development loop sooner.

Early access is a way for me to figure out how far to take this game by finding what ideas are worth exploring and how much additional content is worthwhile, all based on popularity and player feedback.

“1-2 years”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I would like to have many more game types and procedural map elements to offer a unique experience every session.

I am also on the look for additional core mechanics from community ideas.

I would like to include achievements and offer some sort of continuous development that you can chip away at across multiple games. Achievements would specifically be aimed at situational gameplay achievements (for example, chain 100 wall jumps while wearing the wig)

I would like to include some form of player-matchmaking so that you can play with randoms.





What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Movement platforming and combat mechanics work as a solid proof of concept. Depending on feedback from public early access, core mechanics could potentially be in their final state today.

Procedural map generation, networking and 3 game modes are currently working.

in-game voting system for next game-mode works.

What is primarily lacking is a large breadth of content and variety and quality of life features. Game is easy to play and extremely lightweight, so we should be able to get away with it while exploring the viability of the concept while in early access.


Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. While the final price I intend to sell this game is undetermined, I am setting the early access price to something less than the minimum I would sell the full release for. The final price will depend on how long the early access development cycle goes, as I intend to create additional content based on what people enjoy the most.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be closely paying attention to reviews and feedback. I have a very open mind to what direction this game will go. I am simply here to provide the core mechanics and systems.

A lot of inspiration for the gameplay comes from oldschool halo custom game modes. While there is no plans for a custom level or game creator, I do want to capture the spirit of those lobbies with a wide variety of gameplay.”
