What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer, launching a complete game at once is a huge challenge. Early Access allows me to continue developing the game with the support and feedback of the community. It gives me the opportunity to refine gameplay, fix bugs, and expand the experience based on what players enjoy the most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect the game to stay in Early Access for roughly 8 to 12 months. This may change depending on player feedback, bug fixes, and feature development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include additional content such as more maps, new weapons, expanded enemy types, and an improved co-op experience. The goal is to build on the chaotic and funny core of the game with more replayable features also guided by community suggestions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game already features multiple maps, explosive zombie combat, and core mechanics like shooting, kicking, and physics-driven chaos. It’s fully playable and offers a lot of fun moments, but still has bugs and areas for improvement. See the “About This” section for more details.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually raise the price as more content and features are added. The Early Access version is priced lower to reflect the in-progress nature of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly influence future updates. I’ll be listening closely to what players want, whether it's gameplay tweaks, feature suggestions, or bug reports. Feedback can be shared through Steam forums, Discord, or social media, and will help shape the direction of the game.”

About This Game

Ragdolls. Explosions. Soviet rocket legs.

Ascension of the Dead is a chaotic physics-based zombie shooter where every kill turns into a chain reaction of explosions, ragdolls, and ridiculous moments.

This is not survival horror.
This is undead sandbox chaos.

GAMEPLAY:

Kill zombies.

Launch them across the map.

Earn points.

Buy absurd weapons and machines.

Break the game in increasingly stupid ways.

FEATURES:

Physics Combat Chaos – Every bullet, explosion, and kick sends zombies flying in unpredictable ways

Ragdoll Mayhem – Watch enemies collapse, launch, and collide into chain reactions

Weapon Roulette Systems – Get random weapons from machines like the Soviet Washing Machine

Explosive Sandbox Gameplay – RPGs, grenades, cannons, and environmental kills

Momentum-Based Fun Loop – The more you kill, the more ridiculous it gets

ABSURD ZOMBIE RAGDOLLS

You shoot one and it flies like it got hit by a truck.

You kick one, it explodes.

You throw an RPG into a 30-zombie pile and watch your GPU beg for mercy.

Gives random weapons

Could be a MAC-10… could be an RPG… could be regret

Perk Gumball Machine

Rocket Jump Legs

Explosive Ammo

Speed boosts

More chaos perks planned

MAPS SO FAR:

Ascend – Vertical Platform Chaos

Backrooms – Surreal Underground Horror Space

Theatre - Tight Corridor Slaughter

Reactor - Nuclear Core Physics Arena

and more in development

It’s janky. It’s busted. But it’s fun as hell.

Every weapon, mechanic, and feature has been added to make the gameplay loop feel better, faster, dumber.

THE VISION

AOTD is not a horror game. It’s not serious.

It’s a sandbox slaughter sim with polish layered under madness.
