About This Game

The world is fractured, towns no longer function and the systems that once sustained them have fallen into ruin. You are the only one who can absorb lumen without becoming corrupted, and the only one who can begin putting things back together.

At it's core, The Shores of Stellaluna is about rebuilding communities through the careful balance of individual power and the power of the towns you rebuild. As you progress, you'll unlock new shops, worker housing, and crafting stations. Items crafted from the first islands will be needed for the second set, and items form the second set are needed for the third so smart automations through workers and trade networks become more prominent as the game progresses. Each zone has its own dungeon and boss you must defeat keeping the challenge consistent with your progress.

Sail Between Fractured Shores

  • Travel across scattered islands, each one more difficult then those before it. The distance between them matters, ensuring your cargo is right can make or break a resource run. New shores bring new materials, new craftables, increased pressure, and more reasons to keep going.

  • Some areas require bigger and stronger ships to reach, so ensuring yours is up to the task is essential.

Lumen Is Everything

  • Every system in the world runs on one resource, Lumen. Each upgrade, every decision, and every step forward requires resources from the same source. Become stronger and let your villages suffer, or restore the villages at the cost of your power.

Growth You Can Feel

  • Progression happens fast while you gather, fish, craft, upgrade, and grow stronger. What once took real effort and time begins to take seconds but new challenges are always around the corner.

  • Leveling skills happens naturally but can be expedited by consuming your lumen

Restore Towns and Automate Production

  • Each town begins in ruins, as you progress you'll restore these towns unlocking new shops, worker housing, and crafting stations

  • Hire workers to gather materials or craft for you while you're away. Carefully planning these workers tasks can make the difference between a successful trade empire and stalled progress.

Combat That Keeps You Moving

  • Enemies appear both in trials and while exploring at night. Dash, parry, kick, and strike corrupted foes while using melee combat and single active spell. Gems modify your spells effects with burning fields, healing sparks, knockbacks, and more.

The World Remembers

  • The people here have histories. Conversations change, and the more you rebuild and increase reputation with the villagers, the more everything begins to connect.

  • The story of the world is told through these villagers, each one has a unique perspective, leaving you to decide which one is right. There's no quests or log book forcing you down one path.

About The Developer

The Shores of Stellaluna is being developed by a solo developer named Dustin.

After years in the art industry, I stepped away into a more traditional job, but the need to create never went away. This world grew out of that, shaped over five years of learning, iteration, and thousands of hours of playtesting from a community I deeply appreciate.

This isn’t a game for everyone. But if it’s for you, you’ll know it right away.
