What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe great games are built hand-in-hand with their communities. By launching in Early Access, we’re inviting players to embark on this journey with us—to explore, shape, and challenge a world still in the making. FREYA: THE STARFALL is a bold and ambitious project, and Early Access allows us to gather real feedback from real players to refine combat, expand content, and ensure a deeply satisfying long-term experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to fully launch FREYA: THE STARFALL in Q3–Q4 of 2025. Until then, we’ll be actively refining the experience based on community feedback and implementing additional systems and content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of FREYA: THE STARFALL is planned to expand upon the Early Access experience, introducing new game modes, deeper progression systems, and community-driven content. Planned additions include: Real-time Tournament Mode, Guild Wars, Crystal Defense Mode, and The Demon Tower – a high-stakes challenge gauntlet for elite players.

Planned Adventure Mode expansion include Resource & Economic Systems, Starblessings and Divine Factions, Character Bonding Mechanics, Relics and Talent Shards, Interactive Locations like Temples, Black Markets, and DnD-style choice-based Attribute Check events. Deeper character progression systems like Runes and Character-Specific Specialization Trees are also in the plan.

Beyond launch, we plan to host Monthly Events and Updates, including anime and gaming IP collaborations, introducing new classes, characters, skills, Starforge gears, ideology traits and battle mechanics. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of FREYA: THE STARFALL offers a feature-rich yet evolving experience. Players can explore two major game modes:

Adventure Mode, a deep roguelike campaign blending tactical combat, procedural encounters, and meaningful choices.

Conflict Mode, a competitive PvP format where players test formations and mercenaries against other players' lineups.

Core systems—such as mercenary collection, randomized skill pools, and dynamic talent trees—are functional and representative of the final game. However, several features (e.g. visual polish, late-game progression depth, and full-scale multiplayer infrastructure) are still being expanded and optimized.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“FREYA: THE STARFALL is free-to-play with optional in-game purchases. While there is no upfront cost, players who participate in Early Access and make in-game purchases will receive bonus rewards of equal value upon the game’s full release. This ensures that your investment in the Early Access phase is honored and rewarded.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is central to how we shape FREYA: THE STARFALL. We’ll be engaging players through regular AMA sessions, in-game surveys, and Discord-based discussions to gather insights on combat balance, feature priorities, and progression design.

We also plan to implement in-game voting systems for future content decisions and host creative contests that allow players to shape cosmetics, lore, and even mercenary designs. Whether you’re a casual explorer or a min-maxing tactician, your voice matters—and it will be reflected in the evolution of the game.”

About This Game

“Starfallen, this world will not grant you much time.”

“Survive—and if you can, protect our final sanctuary.”

Freya: The Starfall, the very first ‘Dynamic Multiplayer Roguelike RPG’ brought to life by god-tier artists like Sangsoo Jeong, the legendary illustrator behind League of Legends and Diablo. These Characters aren’t built from templates—they’re shaped by chaos, choice, and consequence, they are people with fractured pasts, clashing beliefs, and ambitions. What you developed and adventure with isn’t just a unit—it’s a life you’re rewriting.

Assemble your mightiest heroes in a world where every character shines with unique traits and attack styles, each wielding a randomized arsenal of four skills and five attributes.

Unleash your creativity through intricate, deeply engaging talent trees for every class, granting unparalleled freedom to craft your dream squad and perfect your playstyle.

Lead your crew into the Starfall Festival—a brutal gauntlet of bloodshed and shifting shadows—where only the shrewdest tacticians survive till sunrise.

Here, strength alone isn’t enough. Victory demands mastery of strategy, adaptation, and cunning. Master your resources, chart your squad’s growth, and adapt to an ever-shifting tide of randomized Starforged gear, Wills, character upgrades, set effects, team enhancements, and the ever-unique “Twists of Fate” that reshape your team’s ideology with every playthrough.

Events shift. Factions clash. Ideologies evolve. Your crew isn’t static—they argue, change, and adapt with every choice you make. And when belief clashes with survival, the consequences follow you onto the battlefield. Will you outwit, outlast, and rise above the chaos to see another dawn—or fall, only to rise again?

Here’s what Alpha Testers experienced firsthand and had to say:

"Strategy game inside 3x4 squares with alots of combination from classes, talents and element. Cant wait for more character and class additional release for even more fun thinking strategy. PS: Gareth Oldman is the best."

Oro, White Lotus Guild, "Lvl 1 Slave"

“Its most captivating feature to date is still the addictive gacha mechanics — which give you a randomized skill set for characters — and a unique stat-based level system that offers countless ways to build your team.”

Toyaya, Alpha Tester, "Lvl 1 Rookie"

"Having extensively played the alpha build, I can say that Freya The Starfall provides a strategic and fully customizable ‘have it your way’ team building experience in their unique, up to 5v5 unit, PvP verses mode. Using the gacha system and building your roster from the currently available 3 classes of Knight, Warrior, and Ranger allows you to make preemptive strategic decision as to whether you wish to focus on striking first to deal a lethal blow to your enemy’s carries before they even get to move, try to assault them with debuffs to dismantle their playstyle, or try to defend against the oncoming onslaught and play the long game. Each unit has a fully customizable skill tree that can be shaped to the player’s liking for offense, defense, a hybrid of the 2, or maybe something completely different altogether! Introduction of the new ‘Gear’ system, further ensures that each PvP match, (even those against the same opponent) will never play out the same as Gear options will be RNG rolled at the start of each turn requiring you to think on your feet and optimize your equipment choices on a turn by turn, opponent by opponent scenario."

— cloudjonin1 | White Lotus Guildmaster

“One of the most striking things about the game is its pixel art style—especially in a time when nearly every new gacha game is going full 3D. The market has become saturated with visual complexity—often at the cost of identity and charm.

The pixel art here isn’t just nostalgic—it’s polished and intentional. Every character is drawn with personality. Attacks and movements feel expressive and deliberate, bringing them to life without complex rigging or facial animations.

There’s a clear design philosophy behind it: the game embraces the charm and clarity of pixel art while still feeling modern. It’s pixel art done right.”

Sir WL Guild, Water Boy

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game uses AI to power its living world and evolving narrative.

In FREYA: THE STARFALL, AI isn’t just behind the scenes—it’s woven into the fabric of the game world itself. Every journey across the Starfall Seas unfolds differently thanks to a dynamic event system powered by AI, where world conditions, faction conflicts, and character ideologies evolve in real time based on your actions.

Stories, Events, and Encounters are procedurally generated, enabling endless of possible outcomes as the world responds to your choices.

Characters and factions are more than scripted NPCs—they are autonomous agents with unique goals, loyalties, and personalities. They remember past interactions, form alliances or rivalries, and can shift the balance of power depending on how you engage with them.

All AI-generated content is crafted within carefully curated narrative bounds to ensure immersion, lore consistency, and player safety. It’s not just random—it’s reactive, systemic, and designed to surprise even the most seasoned explorers.

This is a living world—built with AI, shaped by your story.
