What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sombie is a systems-driven MMO that thrives on player interaction. Early Access gives us the opportunity to build the world alongside the community, test core mechanics like permadeath, PvP/PvE balance, and server performance, and evolve the game based on real-world feedback. We want to ensure the experience is not just fun, but brutally fair — and that takes real-world chaos.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Sombie to remain in Early Access until at latest Q4 2026, or until we feel the game is in a stable state, depending on player feedback and feature development. Our goal is to create a polished, deep survival experience with strong community-driven direction.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • Polish, balance updates, and performance improvements
  • More item types, weapons, and equipment
  • Factions and karma system

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is in place: players can spawn, scavenge, survive, and engage in both PvP and PvE with full permadeath. Multiplayer servers are live, and the world supports dynamic encounters with other players and zombies. We are actively testing balance, loot economy, and combat systems, with regular patches during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to change the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be relying heavily on community feedback via Steam forums, Discord, and in-game reporting tools. We'll run regular polls, dev updates, and experimental events. Player feedback will shape everything from item balancing to new features. We hear you!”

About This Game

Meet new friends, or don't...

This game is always online. We recommend befriending other players along the way to survive together. If you would rather shoot them and take their loot for yourself, you have that option.

Loot

In towns you can enter houses and find food, weapons, and ammo.

Build a camp

Cut down trees, gather materials, and build a home to call your own.

Vehicles

Cars are an excellent weapon, and transportation, but be careful, cars may break and need repair

Fishing

Tired of the constant action? go do something more relaxing. Go fishing, fish is a good source of food, or you can sell it to merchants in order to buy what you want.

Fight off the hoard

Hoards of zombies will chase you if you get near, or make too much noise. You can fight them off with weapons, but beware, shooting brings attention from both players and sombies.

Current Features

  • Infinite world
The world is generated as you, or others explore. There is no edge to the universe of Sombie.

  • PvP / PvE
Hoards of zombies will chase you if you get near, or make too much noise. You can fight them off with weapons, but beware, shooting brings attention from both players and sombies.
