What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“POGS is entering new stages of development that could include new features however the core mechanics of the game including turn based battles, inventory systems and usable items are all in place. It would be great to build the next areas of the game with active feedback from the current starting area. It's also a difficult decision when to designate any build as a demo, early access is the perfect solution.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“POGS is on track to release a full version in Spring of 2026 so could leave Early Access somewhere between 10 or 12 months from now.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of POGS will include a handful of friendly characters with accompanying quests to complete and gadgets and wearable items to unlock as well as dozens of opponents and thousands of pogs to collect across 5 or 6 stages (playable areas or sandboxes). Players will be able to design and create their own playable character and even create their own items (pogs and slammers) using custom graphics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“POGS is currently in Alpha which includes skateboarding, mini quests to complete and unlockable items, missions to earn money, ways to spend money at the video store and a number of systems that will carry gameplay through future areas. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Early Access will be made available at a lower price than the full version. As the full version nears release Early Access players will already be able to play the majority of content which will be available in the full version. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“POGS will use built in bug reporting but will also benefit greatly from community discussions which would be best held on STEAM. Feedback here on general game design and content in the game will be encouraged. ”

About This Game

POGS – Power of Golden Slammer is a game about being a kid in the 90s during the pogs craze!

Riding your skateboard around different parts of town, winning and losing pogs battling other kids, mowing lawns to earn money to buy more pogs at the video store and collecting rad items like electronic LCD handheld games, slap bracelets and wearable items which increase your coolness

Power of Golden Slammer doesn't just have POGS it has BLADE, HOLOGRAPHIC and HOLOGRAPHIC BLADE POGS AND SLAMMERS!

You may be wondering “How does a pogs battle actually work?” To summarize, the player and the opponent take turns slamming a stack of pogs with their slammer and keep whichever pogs flip over on their turn.

During battle you have a limited number of turns and can either do a normal slam by using the “SLAM” button as it appears or you can use your one shot SPECIAL SLAM and attempt to use the power of leverage to get a really sweet payout.

Skateboarding in POGS is easy! As long as you land with your wheels on the ground you can manually spin and flip the board anyway you want, allowing for impossible tricks like triple, quadruple, septuple or even OCTUPLE kickflips and heelflips as well as variations of spins.
