Half-Life Legacy is the ultimate restoration for the legendary title originally created by Valve. This Mod by The Phoenix Project Software boasts faithful restorations, and full compatibility with the HL25 engine.

THE FULL CAMPAIGN, BETTER THAN YOU REMEMBERED IT

Legacy allows you to play through the entirety of Half-Life just like it's 1998. We've introduced many minor fixes into the game, such as resolving Z-fighting issues, and more; we have given the game a polish to assure a pixel-perfect experience.

HALF-LIFE 1; WITH ACHIEVEMENTS

Steam Achievements have arrived in Half-Life. There is an achievement for completing each chapter, but additionally, we have scattered more around the game for you. Time to go on a hunt!

TIME FOR A SPEEDRUN

In Half-Life Legacy we have removed the Bunnyhop speed-cap, meaning you can now speedrun the game and go as fast as you want. Let's see if you can make a new world record.

ALL THE RESTORED FEATURES FROM THE ORIGINAL VERSION + HL25

You can expect to see all the features we restored back in 2020, plus, every feature from HL25 including but not limited to:

• Viewmodel bob tilt

Though the graphics are dated, Half-Life 1 depicts violence in a somewhat realistic [for the time] but not in an over-the-top way. Players are able to shoot down hordes of alien species alongside villainous Government soldiers; essentially, it is a "shoot or be shot" scenario. However, through ways of cheat commands, players are able to, in the opening levels as well as throughout the game, shoot or beat down their allies. Human and alien blood is depicted as red and yellowish respectively and with enough damage, enemies can be "gibbed," which is when a subject essentially explodes resulting in debris consisting of bodily parts. As aforementioned, as the visuals have aged, they may seem rather tame compared to modern standards.
