Why Early Access?

“At this point, the game already has the intended atmosphere and mechanics. However, I have much more content to add and hope the game community, no matter how big it becomes, will contribute their ideas to that.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's hard to plan at this point, but at this pace I hope 1 year would be enough.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'm currently planning to add 2 more big maps, more characters, locations, equipment and of course enemies. I also have some lore in plans - notes, cinematics etc. Despite the game being positioned as 'endless', I'm planning several story endings for the sake of lore and atmosphere. I also hope to work more on optimization.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game can be played solo or with up to 4 other players. You have 1 map, 8 pieces of equipment, about 20 different locations to explore and quite enough enemies to entertain you throughout your adventure.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'm not planning to change the price when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback from the community will greatly improve my dev experience as I'm a solo dev, and it's always nice to have opinions as for in which directions we could move with this - especially from those who actually play the game. That's the point of early access.”

About This Game

Venture into a hauntingly liminal forest in Mycelium: The Silent Contract, as a unwilling contractor for a mysterious corporation. Your handler demands results as per your signed contract: harvest the specimens and extract. In this co-op/single-player extraction game death is just the beginning and nothing is as it seems. Fans of the Backrooms, SCP, and Alan Wake universes will feel right at... home? But the mysterious nature and the cryptic fine print of the Silent Contract will keep even them on their toes. What did you sign, exactly?

MYCELIUM

There is no life after death but there's always more work to do. Having signed a contract in exchange for a successful life, now that it has ended, you are obliged to perform tasks for a company called Mycelium.

YOU ARRIVE

Each mission you arrive at a dark and motionless forest where silence is your best friend. It will never be the same, so you'll have to find your bearings over and over again. Don't get lost - or you might never come back.

YOU GATHER

Look for mycelium as that's what you need to complete the contract and free your soul. Buy equipment the company provides and find valuables to get more time in the future missions. The more time you get, the more mysteries you'll face and can solve.

YOU EXTRACT

Use the mycelium you've got to extract from the mission. But hurry up - you can't stay in the forest forever. The longer you stay, the more dangerous it becomes, as there is always someone or something that wants your mycelium more than you do.

YOU IMPROVE

Each successful mission will let you get more advanced equipment and more time to uncover the mysteries of the forest. Use that wisely, as it will not be getting easier.
