About This Game

Nobody knows, grandma! I’ll just read it to you. OK, it says: “Backseat Drivers is a chaotic co-op game about two hapless knuckleheads stuffed into one car. You are one of them.” Huh.

Featuring:

  • First-person two-player automotive mayhem!

    • Grandma’s drivers license is in a legal gray area, and junior only kind of knows what’s going on. But with their powers combined, they can become one almost-competent driver. So, speak up! Use your words and your wits to help these two twits overcome their severe physical limitations!

  • A misbehaving jalopy!

    • Both players are trapped in a car that’s BEGGING to be put out of its misery — older than the passenger by several decades and nearly as old as the driver, its best days are way, way behind it, so you’ll have to fumble around for your map and wrestle with the wheel to get it to behave.

  • Super accurate and realistic car physics!

    • It legally classifies as a working car. Just barely. So stuff will go flying. Not just your coins and your soda, but also your steering wheel, and your gearstick, and your passenger, and anything else that isn’t nailed down. And some stuff that is! You’ll need to work together to keep everything in its place if you’re gonna get anywhere.

  • A bunch of wacky levels to haplessly navigate!

    • You see that mountain over there? Well, you probably can’t climb it. Not in that sorry excuse for a car. But there’s nothing to stop you from trying! You might wanna put the accelerator pedal back on first, though.

  • LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE you can possibly imagine!

    • Provided you can only imagine helping grandma get around by telling her how to drive her busted-up junker.

Hmm. Good point. You don’t see so good. And you’re too little to see over the wheel. And the brake pedal came loose and slid under your seat.

“But don’t worry! With the help of your younger and, more importantly, taller backseat helper, you’ll, um, you’ll definitely be able to get from A to B without causing too much damage. Probably … uh, maybe.”

I’m TRYING to help you keep your license! The DMV’s gonna take it away on your next test if we can’t prove you’re still safe on the r– WAIT WHY ARE WE REVERSING

I DON’T KNOW!! Well, if we get out of this parking complex we can go get ice cream… But, um, I don’t think the ice cream’s gonna last while we're over this lava pit.

Hey, why don’t we get lunch at the diner? It’s just over there — down the street, through the subway, up the alley, over the wooden plank bridge, and past the construction site.

Oh, wait, we gotta get the tires checked, can we stop at the mechanic too? But not the last one we went to. That guy swapped the window roller with the steering wheel.

That’s a LAMP POST, grandma! HIT the BRAKES!! And turn down the radio!!! LEFT! More left! No! Your OTHER left! Stop, stop, stoooooppppp!!

I’m your GRANDSON! What the hell!
