What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rogue Climber is built around movement, replayability, progression, and the unexpected situations created by procedural generation. Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop those systems alongside our players, test major new features in real-world conditions, and use player feedback to determine where the game should grow next.

Since entering Early Access, Rogue Climber has expanded substantially, and we're continuing to use this period to refine its movement, progression, procedural generation, balance, content, and overall presentation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Rogue Climber to remain in Early Access through at least part of 2027.

Rather than commit to an arbitrary date, we want to leave Early Access when the major systems and content we're developing have been thoroughly tested, balanced, and polished with the help of our players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our next major update is already in closed beta and represents a substantial expansion of Rogue Climber, including Free Play, Custom Seeds, the complete 22-Seal progression system, major visual improvements, improved onboarding, and extensive balancing and polish.

Beyond that update, we plan to continue expanding and refining Rogue Climber based on player feedback. This may include new features, additional level variety, progression and balance improvements, new content, and further polish as we work toward 1.0.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current public version of Rogue Climber includes five themed Chapters built around fast first-person platforming, enemies, traps, equipment, upgrades, and handcrafted Bonus Stages.

A substantially expanded version of the game is currently being tested in closed beta. That update will introduce Free Play, Custom Seeds, the complete Seal progression system, major visual upgrades, improved onboarding, and a wide range of additional improvements.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. Rogue Climber is currently $8.99 USD, and we plan to keep the same base price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is one of the main reasons Rogue Climber is in Early Access.

We actively use feedback from Steam, Discord, playtesting, and our beta community to identify problems, balance progression, refine movement and level generation, and decide where development effort is most valuable.

Players are welcome to share feedback through the Steam Community or join our Discord to take a more active part in the game's development.”

About This Game

Climb as high as you can before time runs out. The higher you climb, the greater your rewards.

Think you've got what it takes?

Nah.

COMING IN ROGUE CLIMBER'S NEXT MAJOR UPDATE:

Currently in closed beta. Free Play, Custom Seeds, the complete Seal system, new visuals, and more are coming soon.

Learn five distinct worlds in Chapters, then witness them collide in Free Play. Every climb reshuffles platforms, traps, enemies, and equipment into something new.

Wall-run, blink-dash, grind, ground-pound, slide, and chain aerial jumps through a first-person movement system built for speed, momentum, and precision. Equip and upgrade 22 Seals to push your abilities even further.

Mutators rewrite the rules of a climb: flip the world upside down, strip away its color, or unleash effects that turn a normal run into complete chaos.

Every word or phrase can become a level. Enter a Custom Seed, climb what it creates, then share the name so anyone can take on the exact same challenge.

Clear Chapters to unlock handcrafted Bonus Stages that teach, test, and twist Rogue Climber's movement. Explore beyond the obvious path to uncover hidden challenges, secret seeds, and stories buried beneath the surface.

Only the fastest, sharpest, and most precise climbers will rise above the rest. Will you be counted among their number?

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI was used in the process of creating placeholder background artwork in Rogue Climber's current Early Access build. Since then, we've worked with artists and developed our own art skills to replace those assets with original artwork. All AI-generated artwork will be removed in our next major update.

Thank you for your patience while we got there!
