What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop Emergency Call - The Firefighting Simulation 3 in close cooperation with the community. Direct feedback helps us determine which features, improvements, and content we should focus on. This allows us to tailor the development process to the wishes of our users and ensure that Notruf 3 becomes the game the community wants it to be. We launched the two predecessors to Emergency Call 3 without early access, but were able to fix many content errors thanks to the energetic help of the community, some of whom are even (volunteer) firefighters themselves. We now want to tackle a similar process right from the start. Early access is therefore an open development process in which the community can actively participate.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning an early access phase of approximately twelve months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, we want to offer significantly more missions, training courses, and tasks at the fire station. We pay particular attention to feedback from the community in order to implement the content that is most in demand, as well as to the community's potential technical expertise in the realism of everyday firefighting. So whether it's additional missions, new training courses, greater realism, or completely new features—we are guided by the feedback we receive.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, part of the fire station can be explored, experiencing various activities. The fire training hall, break rooms, a fitness room, the training ground, and a respiratory protection course have been implemented. Players can complete their first training courses and drills. Using the HLF, players can absolve their first operations as an attack squad. A small portion of the game world has been implemented and is accessible via the HLF.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full release will likely be accompanied by a slight price increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Communication with the community will take place across multiple platforms. Polls, feedback, and Q&A sessions will mainly run on the official Emergency Call 3 Discord server, as this is where we can best engage with the community.
Of course, we will also communicate with the community via our social media channels, the Steam forums, and the discussion section. A YouTube channel will be used to share the latest developments with the community.”

About This Game

Experience one of the most exciting and versatile professions up close. In Emergency Call – The Firefighting Simulation 3, you are part of a German professional fire department and bear responsibility for the safety of your city. When an emergency call comes in at the dispatch center, every firefighter knows their role. Which position you take on is entirely up to you.

During your 24-hour shifts, you make purposeful use of the time between calls to prepare for a wide variety of challenges. A daily rotating duty roster gives you the opportunity to take part in training courses, drills, and physical fitness sessions. In doing so, you earn the qualifications needed to be deployed in different roles – from attack squad member to engineer across a range of emergency vehicles.

In the training courses, you are taught all the necessary knowledge in both theory and practice to take on new responsibilities on the job. The engineer course, for example, qualifies you totake charge of an emergency vehicle.

Drills with equipment such as the Halligan tool help you optimize procedures and save valuable time during operations. Working with a thermal imaging camera is also a skill that needs to be practiced.

Daily physical training increases your stamina under stress, which makes a real difference out in the field. Strength, endurance, and recovery capacity can all diminish over time if neglected. Your endurance, in particular can be a decisive factor in saving valuable time during an incident.

Beyond that, there are many routine tasks at the station that form an important part of daily fire house life – and they all need to get done.

Once the alarm sounds, a large operational area with diverse urban districts awaits you. From classic firefighting operations to traffic accidents, you'll face numerous incidents spanning rescue, firefighting, recovery, and hazard protection. A dynamic day-night cycle and changing weather conditions add further challenges and variety.
