What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our main reason is that our game incorporates hybrid mechanics and gameplay elements from many horror games we love. We experimented with new gameplay on each map. We launched the game with 3 maps, and based on player feedback, we planned to create much more established core game loops on maps 4 and 5, resolving the hybrid chaos. After early access, we planned to create completely unique gameplay loops with new maps every two months. However, the nature of the horror themes and game mechanics, along with our budget, prevents us from doing this entirely internally. With this approach, we can develop and, in 6 months to a year, have a full release with 6 to 10 maps during horror festivals in October or March.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We expect Devil of the Plague to stay in Early Access for around 6 to 12 months. This will give us time to expand the game, improve core systems, and polish the overall experience based on player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more content and a more refined overall experience. We want to add new maps, more rituals, greater enemy variety, deeper co-op systems, and further improvements to progression, balance, and replayability.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core gameplay experience. Players can explore multiple maps, complete ritual-based objectives, and play in both solo and co-op. The game is fully playable, but we will continue improving balance, fixing issues, adding content, and polishing the experience throughout development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to gradually increase the price as we add more content and features during Early Access. Players who join early will be able to get in at a lower price and support the game as it grows.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout development. We will continue listening to players, gathering feedback, and improving the game through regular updates. Our goal is to shape Devil of the Plague together with the community as development continues.”
