What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“A.L.A.R.M. is an ambitious open-world adventure created by two people with a substantial playable foundation and much more planned.

While our core gameplay systems are established, significant world content, campaign progression, and additional features remain in development.

Early Access allows players to explore Yachimu while we continue building its remaining content, developing boss battles and the World Influence System, and expanding the campaign.

Player feedback will help guide development priorities, balancing, progression, and the overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate approximately 18 months in Early Access, although this may change depending on development progress and community feedback.

Our priority is to complete the planned content and remaining features while incorporating player feedback throughout development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our plans for the full release include:

Developing the western half of Yachimu, introducing new explorable regions, locations, encounters, and associated content.

Designing and implementing four additional Assassin Companions, including their abilities, interactions, and related content.

Expanding Player Island with additional features, NPC interactions, and activities as development progresses.

Completing the remaining 11 of 21 planned enemy camps and their associated content.

Expanding Dansassination to include 32 arenas.

Expanding quests, encounters, and campaign progression throughout Yachimu.

Completing the Boss Battle System and World Influence System.

Completing ranged weapon heavy attacks and the Magic User class within the Ways of the Shinobi.

Expanding the main storyline and developing key characters through additional quests, encounters, and narrative progression.

Completing in-game tutorials and improving player onboarding.

Community feedback will help shape development priorities and influence how the experience evolves. Plans may change during Early Access.
”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A.L.A.R.M. offers a substantial playable open world with established gameplay systems, including Shinobi combat, exploration, character customization, skill progression, companions, building, terraforming, and Dansassination.

The current version includes 10 of 21 planned enemy camps and 10 of 32 planned Dansassination arenas, alongside existing quests, encounters, and exploration opportunities.

The current Early Access version focuses on the developed regions of Yachimu. The western half of the world remains in development, along with four additional Assassin Companions and their associated gameplay.

Players can experience the existing adventure while Yachimu continues to expand throughout Early Access.
”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. A.L.A.R.M. will be offered at a lower price during Early Access, with the price expected to increase as we approach full release.
”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will gather feedback through Steam discussions, reviews, and direct communication with players.

We're particularly interested in how players approach exploration, combat, progression, companions, and Yachimu's open-world gameplay.

Player experiences will help us prioritize remaining content, refine difficulty and progression, and guide development decisions.

We'll share development updates, introduce new content, and communicate how community feedback influences the evolving game.

Our goal is to maintain save-game compatibility throughout Early Access so players can continue their adventures as new content and features are introduced.

About This Game

TAKE YACHIMU BACK

Following the Arquanum Disruption, Draven and Glim awaken to find Olivia holding dominion over the wilds of Yachimu. Fight her forces, reclaim the land and uncover the mysteries of a world forever changed.

In A.L.A.R.M., you awaken in a fractured world where the line between technology and biology has dissolved. The living-tech relic known as the Nodus binds you to the earth itself; a tool, a weapon, and a curse.

Terraform, build, and progress through evolving biomes shaped by your hand. Fight to reclaim Yachimu from Olivia's corruption, rescue unlikely allies, and uncover a forgotten past. Every victory pushes back her influence, opening new paths and possibilities.

Equal parts combat, exploration, and emergent narrative, A.L.A.R.M. fuses voxel terraforming, cyber-horror aesthetics, and matriarchal revolution into one adaptive, living world.

Absurd, eerie charm where horror and humor hold hands while skipping through a minefield.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Five of A.L.A.R.M.'s 42 music tracks used Suno during production. We wrote the lyrics and musical direction, then performed the editing, reconstruction, mixing, and post-production of the finished tracks.

A.L.A.R.M. has been designed and developed by our two-person team for four and a half years, representing nearly 40,000 hours of development (averaging 84-hour work weeks). Its writing, characters, artwork, animation, gameplay systems, world, and overall creative direction are the result of those years of hands-on development.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

A.L.A.R.M. contains stylized but impactful violence, dark humor, and occasional crude language used for comedic or expressive purposes.

Violence & Gore – Combat is fast-paced, exaggerated, and creative, with blood effects and the occasional over-the-top finishing move. Some attacks may include low blows or humorous takedowns.

Drugs & Alcohol – Characters may consume alcohol, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, and other plant-based substances in ways that align with the game’s satire and storytelling.

Tone & Style – While the game features high-quality PBR textures for realism, character designs are slightly stylized and expressive, balancing the intensity of combat with humor and satire.

No sexual content or nudity.

If you enjoy cyber-horror, dark comedy, and high-energy action, A.L.A.R.M. delivers a unique and immersive experience-with a satirical twist.
