What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because we want to work hand-in-hand with the community to shape the future of Scavland.

While we have a clear vision and a solid foundation, we believe that the best way to bring Scavland to life is by listening to the players who experience it firsthand.

Early Access allows us to gather feedback, prioritize the most impactful features, and deliver the right updates at the right time.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate that Scavland will be in Early Access for roughly 12 to 24 months.

However, this timeline depends largely on community feedback and the scale of new features and content we prioritize together. Our focus is on quality and ensuring that every aspect of the game meets both our standards and your expectations, rather than rushing toward a release date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release of Scavland is planned to expand on the Early Access experience through three story acts.

Early Access will include Act I, introducing the first region, core gameplay systems, factions, quests, and progression.

Future updates will expand the game with:

Act II and Act III, each introducing new regions, quests, creatures, factions, and story content.
Additional weapons, equipment, crafting recipes, and points of interest.
More underground bunkers and exploration content.
Improved AI, balancing, optimization, and quality-of-life features.
A cooperative multiplayer mode, allowing players to survive and explore the world together.

As development continues, community feedback will help shape and refine these plans.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Scavland offers a solid foundation of the core experience, including:

Early Access currently includes:

- Handcrafted open world with procedural underground bunkers.
- Dynamic minimap and world map system.
- Journal to track contracts, main quests, and side quests.
- 10 unique factions and a dynamic reputation system.
- Tactical combat with firearms, melee, stealth, and weapon suppression.
- 25+ weapons and 300+ attachments.
- Crafting, looting, traders, and contracts.
- Main and side quests.
- Dangerous creatures and environmental hazards.
- Day & night cycle.
- Original soundtrack.
- Full controller support and Steam Deck compatibility.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price of Scavland will remain consistent from Early Access through to full release, with the exception of seasonal discounts. We believe in providing fair value to all players.

Early adopters are the foundation of our journey. Your support and feedback help us shape the world of Scavland and create a solid, unforgettable game together. By joining us early, you’re not just playing, you’re actively contributing to the vision and evolution of our flagship project.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that Scavland is as much the community’s game as it is ours. To ensure everyone’s voice is heard, we’ll stay fully connected and engaged through Discord, forums, and social media. Our team is committed to listening to all feedback, whether it’s constructive criticism, suggestions, or new ideas.

We’ll prioritize community input by shaping our development roadmap based on the most-requested features and changes. To make the process even more inclusive, we’ll share this roadmap publicly and allow players to vote on the priorities they feel are most important. This way, Scavland grows in a direction that truly resonates with the people playing it.”

Steam Deck & Controller Support

SURVIVE ANYWHERE

Scavland was built with controller and Steam Deck support in mind, so surviving the wastes feels just as natural from your couch as it does from your desk.

With Steam Cloud, your progress follows you. Save your game on PC, pick up your Steam Deck, and continue right where you left off.

Had enough of sitting at your PC? Grab your Deck and hit the couch. Or the bed. Or anywhere slightly more comfortable.

Your save follows you. Unfortunately, so does the Mist.

About This Game

SURVIVE THE WORLD OF SCAVLAND

Scavland is a hardcore survival RPG set in Zalesye, a land ravaged by war and the mysterious Mist.

You are a Vulture - a scavenger surviving on what the old world left behind. Explore abandoned settlements, take dangerous jobs, fight mutants and hostile survivors, and slowly build the equipment and reputation you need to push deeper into the wastes.

Ammunition is scarce, weapons can jam, radiation is everywhere, and preparation can mean the difference between returning with valuable loot or not returning at all.

FIND YOUR PLACE

Zalesye is home to different factions, settlements, traders, scavengers, and survivors, each trying to make a life in what remains of the world.

Meet their people, take quests, build relationships, and decide who you are willing to work with. Your reputation and choices shape how different groups treat you and what opportunities become available.

Some are trying to rebuild society. Others are simply trying to survive it.

EXPLORE ABOVE AND BELOW

Explore a handcrafted open world filled with abandoned structures, dangerous forests, irradiated swamps, hidden locations, mutants, bandits, and remnants of the old world.

But the surface is only part of Scavland.

Discover entrances to underground bunkers and other dangerous locations featuring procedural layouts, creating different spaces to explore across your playthroughs.

The further you leave the safety of known roads and settlements, the greater the danger - and the better the potential rewards.

BUILD YOUR WEAPONS

Weapons are more than something you find and replace.

Collect firearms and attachments throughout the world and customize them to fit your needs. Change components, experiment with different configurations, and build weapons around your preferred playstyle.

Your equipment defines how prepared you are for the journey ahead. Build your loadout around where you are going, what you expect to encounter, and how much you are willing to risk.

WORK. TRADE. BUILD A REPUTATION.

Survival depends on more than what you can find in the wastes.

Traders offer weapons, equipment, attachments, supplies, and other valuable goods - but their best stock has to be earned.

Take jobs, complete requests, and build your reputation with the people of Zalesye. As your relationship improves, new items and opportunities become available.

Every expedition becomes part of a larger cycle:

Prepare. Explore. Scavenge. Survive. Return. Upgrade. Go deeper.

UNCOVER THE MYSTERY OF THE MIST

You survived being near-fatally shot by mysterious soldiers said to have come from a far-away land with no Mist.

Now you want answers.

The people of Zalesye speak of the East as a promised land beyond the RO-29 Highway - somewhere untouched by the Mist and the horrors consuming the Continent.

Whether those stories are true is another question.

Explore Zalesye, follow its stories, help its inhabitants, and uncover what the Mist is - and why you survived when you should have died.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game includes mild depictions of violence and strong language. Players will encounter simple dismemberment of creatures, blood splatter when shooting enemies, and occasional swearing during combat or dialogue with NPCs. There are no depictions of sexual content, drug use, or self-harm in the game.
