What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Tretrais started with a vision: a survival experience set on Mars where every decision carries real weight, where tension never lets up, and where the goal escaping this planet feels earned. The core is ready and playable: the enemy system, base building, weapon upgrades, and the escape objective. But Mars is far from fully explored.
We chose early access for a simple reason: the best games are shaped alongside the people who play them. Which mechanics truly work, which enemies create the right pressure, which corners of the map need more depth- these are things we can only discover together.
What's coming: co-op mode, new enemy classes, an expanding map, and story content that goes deeper into what Mars is hiding. Every update is driven directly by player feedback.
Joining early access isn't beta testing it's building Mars together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't have a fixed date - and we won't set one just to meet a deadline. Our best estimate is 1 to 2 years in Early Access. We'll stay until co-op is fully implemented, all enemy classes are in, the map is complete, and the full story is told - every secret Mars is hiding brought to the surface. When player feedback tells us "this is the game," that's when we'll launch. We'd rather take the time to get it right than rush a release. Early Access isn't a revenue strategy for us - it's the most honest way we know to build something worth playing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We're planning for the full release to be a significantly richer and deeper experience than what's available in early access.
In terms of content: we're planning to bring all enemy classes into the game, fully implement and stabilize co-op mode, and expand the map so that every corner is worth exploring. We also plan to fully unlock the story content that's currently limited. we want players to find the answers to why Mars is the way it is, where these creatures come from, and what the Tretrais mission truly means.
On the mechanical side: we're planning to expand the weapon and upgrade system, add new trap and turret options, and refine the difficulty balance based on player feedback gathered throughout early access.
Our overall goal is this: someone playing the full release should experience a complete, cohesive, and meaningful journey - from the moment they hit the surface to the moment they escape. Early access is the beginning of that journey. The full release is the whole thing.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Tretrais launches into early access with its core gameplay loop fully playable from start to finish.
What's in the game right now: from the moment you crash-land on Mars, you can build your base, set up a defensive perimeter, place traps and turrets, and repair the escape pod to complete the loop. The tension between holding off endless enemies and making progress on your escape is fully felt and playable.
Technically, the game runs stable overall. There are known bugs that we're actively tracking and working through. We're planning to release regular patches and improvements throughout early access.
Content not yet in the game the co-op mode, new enemy classes, and deeper map areas will be added in upcoming updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We want to reward the players who join early, contribute feedback, and help build this world alongside us. That's why we're planning for the early access price to be lower than the final release price.
As we add new content, features, and improvements to the game, we plan to gradually increase the price. We think it's only fair that the people who show up first get in at the best price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're not building Tretrais alone and we want that to feel real, not just something we say.
Player feedback isn't a formality for us. We'll be actively monitoring Steam reviews and discussions, staying in direct contact through our Discord server, and sharing updates regularly across social media. Bug reports will be tracked and prioritized especially critical issues that affect the core experience.
Beyond that: we're planning to run polls and surveys to let the community weigh in on which features come first and what content gets added. We're genuinely open to shaping the game based on what players tell us.
We're building Mars together. Your voice is part of this world.”

About This Game

🚀 Welcome to Tretrais: Mars Was Waiting for You

The near future. A routine transit just a few hours past Mars, nothing unusual. Until your ship starts failing.

You reach the escape pod. It locks onto Mars. The descent begins.

The moment you hit the red dirt, everything changes. Something is wrong with this planet. You can feel it before the dust even settles, before you've taken your first breath. Mars is not silent. Mars has been waiting for you.

The Tretrais Mission begins now.

🛸 No Breaks: A Relentless, Escalating Threat

Enemies don't attack on a schedule they keep coming, and every wave hits harder, arrives faster, and brings something new. Leaping creatures, explosive organisms, long-range attackers, heavily armored heavies each one demands a different response. The longer you hold out, the more Mars pushes back.

🧠 Traps and Turrets

Slow enemies with spike traps and mud pits, blow them apart with explosives, and lock down your perimeter with auto-firing turrets. Every second on Mars counts placement is everything.

🧠 Traps and Turrets to Strengthen Your Defense
When your weapons aren’t enough, traps and turrets come into play. Place spike traps, slowing mud, and explosive mines to halt enemies in their tracks. Surround your base with auto-firing turrets to build a strong defensive perimeter. Smart placement can be a lifesaver!

🗺️ Explore Mars: The Answers Are Out There

Why is this planet like this? What do these creatures want? As you scavenge for parts and push deeper into the map, you'll find that Mars has secrets buried beneath its surface and they've been waiting a long time. Every discovery raises new questions. But your time is running out.

🤝 Co-op Mode — Coming Soon

Online co-op is in development. Drop in together, build together, escape together.
