Why Early Access?

“As a two-person team, we’ve poured nearly five years into building a world we truly love. Now we want to share it with you. Early Access lets us grow with our community: your feedback directly shapes the future of Mainland Pawan, from combat balance to new skills, PvM challenges, and building systems.

Right now, you can dive into a living world with fast-paced combat, resource gathering through combat, and various skills to train. Over time, we’ll keep expanding with more skills, deeper progression, and larger-scale PvP encounters.

By joining us early, you’re not just playing! You’re helping define what this game becomes. If that excites you as much as it excites us, bring your friends, share your ideas, and let’s build this world together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming to leave Early Access by Summer 2026, though this timeline may shift based on community feedback, development progress, and overall polish. Our main focus during this period is expanding the Mainland Pawan mode with new features, progression paths, rewards, and a higher level of overall refinement.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be more polished, more stable, and significantly larger in scope. Mainland Pawan will expand with additional content, more progression paths, and deeper systems for combat, skills, building, and PvP. Our goal is to tighten the loops for rewards that matter for the end-game, while also providing build diversity options.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“With the launch of our larger Open World mode, the foundation for the game’s future is now firmly in place. To realize the full potential of this mode, we still need to expand the skills system and introduce significantly more PvM, Building, and PvP content. Player feedback during this stage is absolutely vital, as it will directly shape how the world and its features evolve.

The game is currently being developed by a small two-person team. While we know we won’t get everything perfect right away, we’re committed to listening, learning, and addressing issues as quickly as possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new features, and major content expansions. We will also consider increases in the pricing of servers, development tools, and other business expense changes into our pricing decisions.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord primarily. Please jump in the discord and use our various channels such as the: suggestions channel, nerf & buff requests channel, or bug-report channels.”

About This Game

Innovative AOE-centric Skill Based Action Combat—The combat in Tormented Soul is extremely intuitive, unique, satisfying, and smooth—with the feel of a third-person shooter brought to fantasy action combat. The combat has added nuance and attention to detail—with the quickswap weapon system utilizing mid-ability swap buffering, there is animation cancels for players to master double-ultimate combos, and above all there is a need to aim your abilities accurately.

As a two man bootstrapped indie team, achieving our game's vision without AI would have been literally impossible. We have used AI tools such as Midjourney for item icons, some materials in game, & parts of our trailers. We also used AI such as Soundraw.io for our soundtrack in-game, Suno for trailer music, Elevenlabs for voice acting, and a few other AI tools for technical areas of the game.
