A calvinball deckbuilding card game where you play as one of the whimsical Meeples returning from an adventure with a bounty of rocks. In this card game, you collect pebble cards to exchange for other cards, build a Show & Tell, and change the rules on how to determine each game's victor.

„Early Access allows us to gather player feedback on gameplay balance, card interactions, and overall feel, while also helping us identify and resolve issues we may have missed.

While the core experience is fully playable, we plan to continue refining balance, expanding progression systems such as achievements and unlockables, and adding additional polish based on community feedback.“

„We currently expect Rock Beats Rock to remain in Early Access for approximately three to four months. This timeline may adjust as we incorporate player feedback and continue refining the experience.“

„During Early Access, we plan to refine gameplay balance, improve UI/UX, and address bugs based on player feedback.

We also plan to expand progression systems such as achievements and unlockables, and further polish the overall experience to reach a more complete and refined full release.“

„The current Early Access version is fully playable in both single player and two-player modes. All core gameplay systems are implemented, including deck building and core card interactions.

The OST is complete, and the majority of visual assets are in place. Players can experience the full core loop of the game, with additional polish, balance improvements, and progression features planned during Early Access.“

Players will be able to share feedback through the Steam forums, social media, and our GitHub public issues board, and we will be monitoring these closely.

We aim to regularly incorporate player suggestions into updates, particularly around balance, usability, and quality-of-life improvements. As we iterate, we’ll communicate changes through patch notes and development updates so players can see how their feedback is shaping the game.“

“Wanna play with these cool rocks we found? We'll make up a game together!”

In Rock Beats Rock, sit down and join the childlike Meeples as they create a game out of the rocks found during their previous adventures. 

Gather pebbles and exchange them for even cooler rocks from the Card Shark to compete in having the best rock collection. Change the rules of game play using rules cards, or shake things up by playing ruckus cards.

Will you build the most impressive rock collection… or ruin your opponent’s plans first?

CHANGE THE RULES

Play Rule Cards to change up the match as you go.

Boost certain rocks, twist scoring, create strange new win conditions, and force your opponent to adapt on the fly. No two games stay the same for long!

PLAY SOLO OR WITH FRIENDS

Challenge the computer in single-player mode, or your friends in 1v1 multiplayer mode.

CAUSE RUCKUS

Use Ruckus Cards to stir up trouble.

Sabotage your opponent’s collection, disrupt their strategy, steal momentum, and shake up the game and create trouble when your opponent least expects it.

TRADE WITH THE CARD SHARK

Collect Pebbles during your turn and spend them on new cards from the Card Shark’s rotating stock.

Prices drop over time, but wait too long and unsold cards get replaced.

BUILD YOUR COLLECTION

Play Rock Cards into Show & Tell to proudly display your best finds.

Some rocks sparkle. Some have lots of points. Some work best with special rules. Decorate your rocks using ruckus cards, mind the rules, and maybe you’ll win this time.
